Due to a technical glitch on the Future Shop website, my 65ST60 order never completed, and if there was a 65ST60 ...it disappeared and somebody else got it. If you're out there lucky Future Shop shopper person, enjoy the 65ST60. I was offered some solutions, and it even seemed as though a 65VT60 could be sourced from Quebec at a compromise price but alas, I was told they could not ship it between Quebec and Ontario. I know they don't normally, but I was hoping under these cricumstances they would be able to. Something about Panasonics quota for each Province, but quite frankly, I just don't think the powers that be wanted to move the set and/or compromise in price. Well, I'm running out of options, so I've ordered a 60VT60 as my last kick at the can. I would have liked a 65ST60 instead, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the 60VT60 about as much.

Well, I've ran screen wipe at least 16+ hours and Disney WoW pixel flipper at least 8+ hours and I can still see the logo and corner triangle... I'm starting to give out hope.

Return it. I just went back and read your older post and my suspicions were confirmed, you do not have a garden variety BB display, you got one of the ones that was attached to the *Panasonic* display that was out in the middle of the floor. It's unlikely that you're ever going to be able to fix the screen burn on that unit because unlike BB's demo reel on the floor TVs and in magnolia, the Panasonic specific demo reel which had they were using on 60STs is MUCH shorter in length and has a lot of temporary static images. The worst of which being a big fat white "Panasonic" logo right dead center in the middle of the screen each time the demo-reel restarts. In 3000 hours it probably played this reel over and over about 7000 times at least.

My advice is to return the TV and just keep patiently waiting for another REGULAR BB demo or customer return open box deal, or even maybe a new straggler somewhere out there. That level of burn will never be acceptable watching anything and it's rather unlikely you'll be able to completely clear it, especially since the demo is practically run in torch mode.

My advice to anyone else looking at an open box 60ST (I think that's the only size they used on the Panasonic display) is to make sure it wasn't running the Panasonic demo. Unless you get it for 4 or 500.00 and want to spend the amount of time it might take to even reduce it a small amount.

Yeah, I agree... 97%+ of the time, I don't notice the logo... but when its a lighter solid color (or very simple pattern) I can see it. For $1k I don't think I'll want to live with it and will return it. If I paid $500, I'd gladly keep it. Most of the in store loop demos I looked at were scratched up so bad I don't think I'd be happy even at $500... this one however, the screen is near mint which is a shame.

I agree that's too much good TV money to put up with that.

Pretty sure they will come and pick it up from you at no charge.

That would be nice if they'll come pick it up. It was fun getting it home... barely fit in suv upright without stand... obviously no box either. Should I call the store or 800# to setup a pickup for a return?

I don't know exactly how it works if you carried the TV home yourself, but if you opted for the free home delivery, they'll also pick it back up for free if you don't like it. Call the store directly and if they're able to set up a pickup via OMS (BB's order management system) somehow, they'll come get it from you. I know for SURE they'll come get it if you go to the store and pick something else out that you want because I did this with my Sharp Elite TV that I went and picked up in Chicago myself, then exchanged for a ZT60. They dropped off the ZT and picked up the Sharp, even though I didn't have the sharp delivered.

Wouldn't wanna be the guy who got that ST, though.

Damn, pic won't upload from my phone. Ill have to add it later.

Point stands... Nows not the time to wait. They're going quick.

I'd like one of those please.

ISF Calibrator

Pioneer Kuro Elite Pro-111FD
Pioneer Kuro BDP-320

Displays are like 100% cotton t-shirts. Always buy a size larger than you think you'll need, as they tend to shrink over time.

My mistake. $1500 would be a great price for the 65". Has anyone seen prices going up since availability is going down on the ST60?

I was able to get one for $1500, but that was price matching Fry's. As a side note I have been VERY happy with the tv so far.

They're gone everywhere I've looked.

The good news is that the VT has now come down to within a few hundred dollars of the old 50ST price, and especially the 60. I think 55VT stock will be around for a while, those things haven't moved at nearly the rate of all their bigger brothers.

Yeah I figured the guy was full of it because I couldn't find that price anywhere on a 65ST. He was trying to buy my used one I have listed for that price and claimed he could get a new one for that. Asked him to send me a link but never heard back from him. Surprise, Surprise.....

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. It looks like Sears has one in stock but for pickup only so probably an open box or display. They still want $1000 on it.

If I go with the 55 I might as well just move my 58 in there, but I think the 50 is about the largest that I would need in there especially since it rarely gets used.

FWIW, I just picked up the last store demo 65ST60 at the local HH Gregg for 1398 out the door. Manager dropped the sale price 250 to make the deal. I was shopping for a 60S60 cause I don't need the 'smarts', but they were long gone at all the stores (BB, Sears & HHG) in my area.

This one has been running the Panasonic demo reel you guys are talking about. I had the salesman run the rolling white screen and could see some minor image retention, but I don't know whether that's the best way to tell if I'll have a problem once I get it set up for normal use.

I've never had any IR issues with my old 50PX75U.

Is there procedure you guys recommend for break-in at this point? Is there an easy way to check the hours on this model you could point me to?

On the main menu scroll down, select help then system info and scroll down to status 4C is your running hours. Example if it says 0104 then it is 104 hours

Thanks rushfan, did just that and was shocked to find only 347 hours on this store demo. Of course in torch mode! Turns out the IR is from being set up in the home theater display area of HHG so the only noticeable effect is a faint "dts" logo at the bottom right of the screen. Expect that will fade with more time.

I can get an open box store demo p60st60 from sears for $1350 with 2600 hrs on it and no apparent image retention. Worth the price, or should I stay away?

BTW, Google searching "sears outlet" + the model number you're interested in will show you the return/open box sets remaining in your surrounding area/states.

I just bought a floor model 50' st60 from Best Buy with 3500 hrs for 750.00 and the picture is fantastic with no IR issues what so ever. The way I look at it is - I know this TV is not a lemon if its already made it to the 3500 hour point and I will upgrade to a better technology by the time this TV expires.

However I am a little pissed at the Best Buy salesman and manager for not being upfront with me when I asked them if it was a return or a floor model and they told me" they believed " it was a customer return so I just assumed because the TV was on a stand , had all the accessories and looked like brand new without a scratch on it and because a customer has only has 30 days to use it that the hours would be fairly low.I should have known it wasn't a customer return because there was no box and it was a Feb 2013 born on date - but then again if they had told me this info I probably would have passed on it and I wouldn't be rocking this plasma now !

I doubt they were actively trying to deceive you, odds are they were really just talking out of their @ss and didn't know. Good you're enjoying it though.

Is the plasma not available in any of the BB on your area? I guess availability must be a regional thing. There are still available in Colorado. Good luck.
