I ordered a 60" ST60 direct from Panasonic on 7/11, got it delivered on 8/2. Unfortunately, the screen was broken on it so I had to return it. But I talked to a Panasonic rep for a while trying to figure out how to get a new unit.

Basically the ordering is an absolute disaster since the demand is so high, and there aren't any real estimates on how long it will take to get them. They're producing them as quickly as possible, and when they do get a shipment in some go to retailers, and some fill the direct from Panasonic orders. They never know how many are going to get shipped from the factory (FYI shipments come in every Sunday), so they just give that 8-12 day estimate. It doesn't sound like this is going to change anytime soon either, so I highly doubt the price will go down from $1499.

They told me that once Panasonic gets my broken unit back they'll send me a replacement if they have any in their warehouse (ha), otherwise they'll refund me.

It will be worth the wait. The picture is so nice.

Hey everyone,

Is anybody from Canada here? Any new or upcoming deals on the TCP60ST60?

It seems that this TV is very scarce over here between Best Buy and Futureshop. At Best Buy its only available online so of course you can't do the financing with a Best Buy card, so my question is do you think Best Buy would allow you to ship it to one of their store locations in order to do the 24month paying plan for instance?

Thanks

If you're in western Canada, check out Visions. (www.visions.ca). The TV is on their website for $1900 but in store on the weekend I was offered a price of $1700 or $1875 including a 5 year warranty without trying very hard at all. They didn't have any in stock so they'd need to order the TV.

I'm really puzzled by the price gap between the 60" and 65" when it comes to the ST60 vs the S60. Unless I missed something:

60" S60 - 1000$
65" S60 - 1300$

a 300$ difference

60" ST60 - 1300$
65" ST60 - 2200$

a 900$ difference !?!?!?

Those are the avrg/good prices in the US. In Canada the outlook is a bit different since prices are outrageous across the board.

60" S60 - 1400$
65" S60 - 1900$

a 500$ difference.....

60" ST60 - 1900$
65" ST60 - 2600$

a 700$ difference....

How does this all make sense?

Where are you seeing $1300 for the 60" ST60? I've been seeing $1500 consistently for over a month.

hmmm grabbed all my prices from amazon.com but I could definitely be mistaken. I can't seem to find it anymore there. Still the gap remains highly disproportionate.

I would love to see a much lower price on the 55ST60, I have 90 days with my Costco purchase. Keeping my fingers crossed.

amazon just restocked on the 55 and 50" ST60s as well. I was set on the 50" but that 55" sure is tempting as it hits the sweet spot as far as size for my living room. Is $1349 a good/fair price for it? I'd be paying $352 for 5 more inches of screen size.

$1349.00 is the standard price I have seen it for while price checking recently. Cant say if it has been lower since I haven't looked until the last week or so.

If I saw it for $1349.00 at Amazon, I would order it right away. As of now, there is only one company selling it, and it's NOT Amazon and their price for the 60ST60 is $1999.99 frown.gif

In Vancouver there appears to be no shortage of any model of Panasonic and Samsung. I picked up a 60 inch ST60 for $1800 CDN and $50 delivery and setup last thursday. London Drugs Store had about 10 in stock. So did Future Shop and Best Buy.

Did you get it just now or have you already received the TV?

Anyone know what the delivery experience is like with ABT? I see an option for white glove service for an additional $100 butI don't want to pay that. i'm wondering how good the non-white glove delivery is.

not really a hot deal in terms of price, but if you're like me and could benefit from financing, Sears is currently running an in-store promotion for 36 months no interest on electronic purchases $1199 and above. I was originally set on getting a 50" through best buy or amazon's 24 month interest-free financing, but I went with sears instead because of this.

Abt showed "Back Ordered 7-10 days" on the website for the 60" when I checked last night. On a whim I called them and the CSR was able to allocate one for me from the warehouse, supposed to ship today.

This will be my first large-screen TV, replacing an ancient JVC 36" D-series CRT in my basement family room. I'm elated, and can't wait to get the set and start the burn-in, settings, etc. etc.

btw, anyone want a free 36" CRT? You haul :-)
