Pauls had all the better pricing and ABT probably wasn't selling as many!

Thanks to everyone that's posted deals, it's been almost 9 years since I got my first and only Panny plasma, a 50" 7UY commercial model I bought in Jan. of 05. Cant wait to put this thing in its place this weekend.

Justin, that's weird to see such an early build date from a purchase in November.

I had no clue about the soundbar offer until I read your post and ordered a TV this morning! I am talking to CSR right now to try to get one as the offer is still valid and the soundbars are still available, so far I have been transfered twice. I will cancel refuse delivery and reorder if they don't give it to me.

I went in tonight and with virtually no haggling, I asked what is the lowest you can do...he came back with its already on sale...but he said there is no price lock....so I offered him 2k...he didn't go for it and I didn't push it, but he came back with the 2199.00...free delivery....I live 25 miles from Best Buy Salem, even though I bought it in Tualitan, an hour from me and 40 min from Salem..no tax in Oregon...This tv can be had for 2k out the door...I am sure I could have pushed another 100 off, but I was happy with what I got based on Rewards, free delivery, pick up etc...they are taking my old junker. Remember this is a want purchase, not a need...go in with that empowering mentality and don't flinch. I just don't get the stores that didn't match at 2299.00, when BEst Buy has it online for 2399.00.

Nice, I guess unfortunately for most people here, there will be tax when purchasing it on Best Buy. I would have to be at $2k out the door to match the amazon deal as currently I paid $2299, plus I will get 2% back in amazon credit so that lowers it to $2250ish and now that I will also get the free soundbar that is currently on amazon for $270, that puts the TV just under $2k. Maybe they are willing to deal as these TVs may go on clearance soon since they are being discontinued?

If anyone wants the soundbar deal still at amazon, here is the link

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1001430841

I just got CSR on amazon to give me the deal. The CSR rep last night tried to just give me credit but I guess it was over the official amount she was able to give :(

What are the differences in build dates? I noticed foam around the fans in the back can still hear buzzing of course as I'm doing the d nice break in slides on bright white slides

Foam is installed on both sides of the fans in later builds (not just the back).

Do you know what build dates this occured because the fans are pretty noticble with no sound on? Despite that this tv blows me away and I have owned 2 Pioneers, 4280 and 500m. My wife who didn't like the look of the tv in the store, when she saw it set up she said it looked great. Also the delivery guy commented on what a beautiful looking tv. As far as complaints about brightness, not sure what people are expecting but this tv is plenty bright.

I believe they began to implement the fix in August 2013 builds onward. Indeed, they are the loudest I've heard on any TV. I have a May build purchased in June (ZT60) and haven't called to complain yet (Panasonic support is giving some folks a hard time who are requesting the fix). Interesting comparative impression between the 500M and the VT60 (I know a few folks around here who might disagree, lol).

If we request a fix do we call Panasonic support directly? Also is it a fix that I can do or does Panasonic come out and do it ?

Either. wink.gif Panasonic sends out a licensed technician to complete it, but it can be done by any owner if he/she possesses enough bravery. wink.gif And yes, phone call to the support line.

Vinnie,

I do notice foam around the edges of the back fans... would this be the foam fix? (April 2013 Build) that I just got yesterday. Or is there something more advanced that Panasonic sends out?

I haven't looked closely at my May build, but they add more foam than was present in pre-August builds.

Price is back down to $2299.99 @ Paul's TV for the 65VT60. Just use coupon code ''HOLIDAY8''

I had a tough go of it at several Best Buys looking for a 65 inch VT60. In Pinole, California the Best Buy department manager says he only price matches Amazon. At the Concord Best Buy I offered $2000. The manager was not in but available over the phone. The sales guy called and looked it up and said he could not come close to that price, especially in light of the sales tax. He volunteered that his cost is @ $2100; whatever that means. No counter offer from Best Buy was provided. I am a little concerned about the damaged shipments and old build dates from Paul's and ABT. Best Buy seems to have recent build dates and better ability to trade out panels if there is a problem.

After getting the deal I got I was wandering through the ZT forum and noticed that someone who was supposed to get an ST couldn't get one,,,he paid and for what ever reason Best BUy didn't have or couldn't get it...so they gave him a 65in VT60 at 2099.00. I only read the post once and was just trying to find it, but its there.... SO that is what it can be had for..which is most likely cost or close to it..but if Best Buy has them in stock they want to get rid of the tech...and my store rep told me that it isn't a locked auction...meaning the price is definitely negotiable.

Good luck

Hugh.

Curious as to how many people are just holding off through this coming weekend before they make there P65VT60 purchase? So close to Black Friday & Cyber Monday and hoping for price drops but also running the risk of very low inventory.

I wouldn't hold your breath for any crazy deals on 65VT.

Though I am an employee of Magnolia Home Theater, the views and opinions I express on this forum are those of my own and not my employer.

I pulled the trigger from amazon when it went down to 2399. They have the 14 day price guarantee so I am waiting to jump on any price matches over the next week or so.
