No, it's a legit question to ask.

Your situation, on the other hand, is a different beast. That fact that you would come on here and lie about a price you got to make others feel bad is just sad.

It is completely legit. I'm asking how do I go to BBY and show them the Paul's sale price, which I don't doubt for a second only I don't see it on the site. I may order from Paul's today or I may go to BBY for this price match on the 60".

On the other hand, no one will go to BBY today with a price match on the 65" at well under $3 grand. No one.

"Paul's Price" on their website (requiring you create an account) is $2,799.99 on the 60" ($3,399.99 on the 65").

Doesn't add up. BBY sure as heck isn't going to price match the stupid gift cards. And even then it doesn't meet $2399.

They have a $400 coupon for the 65" listed on the site, but when you call them, they extend that offer to the 60". So you can buy the 60" for $2,399 right now delivered white glove and no sales tax in most states. They also have a no cash down 6-month payment plan.

As to how to get the 2,399 on BBY I'm not sure so that's why I asked. I do feel confident that it is possible.

Where is the $400 off coupon for the Vt60? I cannot find it on the website. I had an online chat with their rep just now. The lowest that they will go for the 65 inch is $3099.

Can't post a link here I guess? Just google search, but it wasn't really a "coupon", just a discount.

Anyhow, the price you were quoted is the lowest you are likely to find. In reality, that is.

I just returned my F8000 to BB and I was quoted a price of $2999.99. However,
PC Richards really came through and I just purchased a VT 60 from them for $2599 which is being delivered this Saturday.

Are you quoting 65 inch or 60 inch price?

After literally months of going back and forth between the S, ST and VT models (yes, you read that right... they all have their strengths and merits in my book), I finally took the plunge and went with a 65VT60 to replace my 65V10 with. As I had documented here earlier, I had horrible experiences at Best Buy and HHGregg. They were not willing to negotiate the price at all and were even rude about it. A shame, since I was hoping to take advantage of Best Buy's Silver Rewards Program... After waiting for prices to come down on Amazon (with no luck) off to BrandsMart I went. I had bought my two previous TV's there, in fact, and those experiences were always pleasant. Plus, salesmen there are ALWAYS willing to negotiate.

Long story short, I told myself that if I could get the 65VT60 for $3K out the door, I would buy it. If not, I would look at the 65ST60 or I'd simply keep waiting. I'm happy to say I got the deal. No questions, no BS, I simply went in, named my price and offered to pay cash on the spot.

The price for the 65VT60 came out to be $2700 on the receipt. Plus taxes and in-home delivery the total was about $3060. Can't complain about that!

I also purchased a 3-year, full coverage extended warranty for $115. Got a deal there as well and since the sales guy was willing to help me I figured I would go with it since that's mostly how he gets his slice of the pie. Extra pennies worth spending, I think.

So, grand total came out to $3179.87. TV + tax + delivery + 3-year extended warranty.

I'm now crossing my fingers and hoping the TV gets delivered tomorrow, as promised, and with no issues. I'll report back once I am (again, hopefully) up and running. smile.gif

For those in the South FL area, I really recommend the Brandsmart by the Sawgrass Mall.

So you had a bad experience bc they wouldn't negotiate pricing? I'm confused where the problem is? What would the point of a store having pricing tags be if people just made up prices and came to an agreement for things?

That's correct. With all due respect, who pays list price on an item like this nowadays? We all know they will be heavily discounted soon enough. Look at the VT50's a few months ago. Additionally, my 65V10 suffered from the black level rise and Panasonic could not care less about the issue. I told myself I would either get a good deal on my next Panasonic plasma or look somewhere else altogether...

I could take my business online and not have to worry about taxes nor delivery. I have an Amazon Chase Visa card and get 3X points that way. But I figured I would support a local store instead. Stupid me! When at Best Buy, I politely inquired what the best price they could offer was. Their answer was "whatever the list price is". They also gave me the wrong information about the VT60 and didn't even know what they were talking about, period. When I asked if I could get a better deal they became rude, arrogant and started giving me some smart-ass remarks. I'm sorry, but I spend a significant amount there every year and I do not think expecting better treatment and a reasonable deal is beyond the realm of the logical. Not to mention, good luck finding somebody there at all. For the last year or so, every time I visit Magnolia there is literally NOBODY there...

Similar experience at HHGregg as well. The salesguy, who was in his 20's, asked me how much I was hoping to pay. I named my price and he told me to wait while he would talk to his manager, etc, etc. We know what that means. Literally 30 minutes later the guy is nowhere to be seen, and the store is EMPTY. I finally go look for him and he had completely forgotten about me. I refresh his memory and he asks me to wait ONCE AGAIN. Another 15 minutes later, he comes back with a price that wasn't even close to what I had proposed... Did he even listen to what I had to say? I'm ok if you are not willing to give me the deal, but don't waste my time.

So, yes, I can understand your question, but I do not see any harm in doing what I did at Brandsmart. Again, no BS, no wasted time. I went in, I was greeted cordially right away and before I opened my mouth the guy there said "I WILL get you a great deal today". I mentioned I was a repeat costumer, I named my price and he took it.

I deal with rude people at work myself, and I feel bad for those in retail who also deal with nonsense on an hourly basis, trust me. But that was not the case with me. I respectfully offered to pay cash, I explained I was fully aware of the profit margins, features, etc. in each model, and I simply asked for a good deal. I do not think there's anything wrong with that.

Are you a sales person yourself? As far as I know, NO warranty whatsoever covers burn-in, so that is not necessarily Brandsmart fault, although I'm sure they'd be willing to cooperate if the issue is properly addressed. I don't understand what the problem is here... I'm simply sharing my experience for those who live in my area and are considering a similar TV.

I know best buys does. As far as I know they are the only one, its why I purchased mine there. Fortunately too, from all the sports I watch I have channel logos burned in on my 50g20 and they are refunding me my money for it (purchased in 2010) which I'm putting towards a 65zt

No problem was just confused on the poor experience part which I can somewhat agree with and understand where you are coming from. Just the initial information made it seem it was a poor experience bc they didn't negotiate which to me is odd. And wanted to make sure you knew, I went to their site to see because I know it's a huge issue for me.

I appreciate your comments. No harm done. Regarding burn-in, I've been lucky so far and none of my previous plasmas have it. But worse comes to worse I am sure Brandsmart would at least be open to discuss possible fixes or options. At least in my case, they have always been helpful.

The 65 inch, funny thing is BB was willing to beat PC Richards price by a 100.00 when I went there to get a refund on the VT that I had ordered from them earlier in the day. I politely declined the offer.

I couldn't tell you. :-(

When I went to Magnolia, I asked the salesman/supervisor if they price matched. He confirmed they did, and I told him I was interested in the 60 or 65" VT60. He first checked Amazon, which had a price around $2700. He then went to Google (I assume it was http://www.google.com/shopping, I wasn't paying super-close attention) and searched for the VT60. He found the $2200 price tags of East Coast TVs and AllTimeTVs, but after checking Panasonic's Authorized Retailers list, said he couldn't match them, since neither vendor was listed. He found the $2399 price at Paul's TV, and confirmed they were an authorized retailer, so he matched their price. When he looked up the 65" at Paul's TV, there was only the list price of $3599, and the prompt to login or create an account to see the actual price.

I have no idea how he found that price on Google, or how he was able to see the price on Paul's TV without logging in. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

BBY's employees, including those at Magnolia, have little training. Total amateur hour. Paul's will be delivering my 60". No way BBY will hit $2,400 all-in, out the door, delivered and set up. I tried to give them my business.

My PC Richards had this tv and they are asking $2,700. THe repair tag is scary. Any thought on how I can ind out more about what the problem was and whether I should take my chances and but it? Thanks.

I've stalked this forum for quite some time but i thought I'd make my first post.

I was able to get best buy to match the east coast tv price of 2,169.99 on the 60 inch VT 60! I still paid $140 in tax over what I would have paid from east coast tvs but i was a bit worried about ordering from them. Note: I went to 2 best buys within 15 minutes of each other. The best buy magnolia shut me down immediately because east coast tvs is not an authorized dealer, but the non-magnolia best buy matched instantly after looking up the east coast tv price.

Went to a Best Buy (Magnolia), poked around a little bit to see both the 60" ST60 and VT60. Too bad they weren't next to each other.. I decided on the VT60 due to the better filter, and slightly darker blacks. I was shocked that BB matched eastcoasttv's price, plus 2% off which ECTV is offering thru today. Price match came in at $2116.80 + tax I was very pleasantly surprised, as I've had nothing but negative experiences at BB over the years. If this is the "new" BB, then I'm back!

I would have gone for the 65" but the girlfriend talked me out of it. Just a tad too big for the room.

Now to go look for a stand and a sound system. smile.gif
