I can't believe that the VT would drop even more between now and then, but it's quite possible that the ST will drop considering that Amazon has the ST priced higher than the VT right now.

BB now says no pick up at store. That's what it said a couple of days ago. Now their only option in my area is to ship to your house. My order just got shipped via JBHUNT. Hopefully they are easy to work with.

JB Hunt called me today to confirm my info.

They said I would get a call the day before delivery setting up a time.

Me: Uhhh...You guys are supposed to come tomorrow.

JB: We are?

Me:  Yes, that's what I set up on Amazon.

JB:  Well we are really backlogged due to Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.

---I'm Thinking...Cyber Monday??  Those TV orders have not even shown up for you yet.

So, I was at least able to squeeze in for a Wed delivery..though I could not set up a time.

They do say that it should be delivered by 2 guys and they would put it on table or whatever.

Does this mean you have to wait around all day on Wed. for your TV or do they provide a window?

If I order now and choose a delivery date down the line, will it give me more time to contemplate my purchase and cancel?

Just initiated a Discover card price protection claim. Bought the 65" VT60 a couple weeks ago for $2648 from ABT. Got the $265 10% Shopdiscover bonus, $75 5% up to 1,500 and $499 refund for price matching Amazon/Bestbuy at $2149

Total out the door price after refunds and cash back $1810!

How did you get 10% through shopdiscover? Do you have to have a discover card for this? If so, which one? I wonder if it would be worth signing up. I am going to purchase from Amazon though and don't see them on the list.

I believe any discover card woks. Amazon is not one of the retailers. I believe abt.com is the only place that sells TV's where you'll get 10% back. Since you pay shipping it might be a was depending on what size/model you buy. They want to charge around $150 for shipping a 55" VT60.

I was thinking the same, however, I was trying to add 2 DVDs today after ordering the TV and was told I can not order another TV, that the number I can order is limited (to just 1 obviously). I chatted with customer service, she can't be sure if I can just cancel existing order and place a new one, and she couldn't help me add the 2 DVDs into existing TV order either, so I ended up placing the order of 2 dvds and she helped me waiving the shipping charge.

So, I'm not sure if you can cancel and re-order later, but Amazon may still ship the item out to the 3rd party "enhanced delivery" early and it'll be more difficult to cancel it.
I chose the TV to come next Monday, and not the earliest possible time of Friday. My order entered "Preparing for Shipment" around 2 hours after I placed the order. I can only "request cancellation" now (which means cancellation isn't guaranteed).

I know it's hard to pull the trigger, I've struggled for days too before I placed the order today, also worrying the price may end after Cyber Monday.

Let's say the same TV is $1500 at ABT. Shipping is $150 (roughly), no tax, but 10% cash back.

Just saying the shipping cost at ABT doesn't make the cash back as attractive.

Shipping is Free at ABT as well as Amazon... Tax at Amazon, No Tax at ABT. You Could buy the TV set from ABT, and then attempt a price match as they have a "30 day PM policy"

Lucky. My Discover credit line isn't enough to cover the TV. So I get to miss out on all the cash back and Shop Discover bonuses. Might need to call them and see what they can do.

You don't need to use the Discover card when you make the purchase. I did this with a set of 3D glasses (clicked by way of the Shop Discover portal, so I generated a tracking cookie). I ended up using my Amazon Visa to check out (I like generating points on that card) and made the assumption it wouldn't give me the cash back. Lo and behold, I received an email a few days later regarding the cash back bonus from that very purchase.

Thx, I'll try again as they were trying to charge me shipping.

Was just about to pull the trigger on the 55 inch VT60 at bestbuy, as soon as I entered my CC info the price increased by $500. I just missed out.

Unfortunately they want to charge me $134.40 for shipping the 55" VT60. Ah well. Amazon is probably my best bet now with prime.

Thx for your help though. I went through amazon and it will get here Saturday with prime vs. Paying $70 for delivery to bestbuy which was my original plan.

I guess the risk of doing this now is that Amazon would be sold out by the time you want discover to cover the PM? How long after receiving would you have to wait? It stacks with Discover CB?

It stacks with CB from my knowledge... I did a chat with a Price protection lady at Discover and she said just to capture a screen shot with a time stamp on it showing the price... The CB and PP are seperate

So that means I could essentially take the screenshot the next day and be covered? This seems like a no brainer best deal then.

That's what I was told ... Since they have to snail mail you the claim forms which she told me takes 5-7 days to get to me. I told her what if the price goes up and she said just screen shot it with a time stamp. So fingers crossed when I actually submit this it will be good to go... I took double screenshots of amazon and bestbuy this afternoon

Alright I just grabbed the 60VT60 for $2k at ABT. I'm going to try to get the price match started tomorrow morning. I'll post with how it goes.

Hey all. I was going to grab the VT from Amazon until the price jumped back up. I saw on ABT the price is less when you factor in no tax and free shipping as well. I've never bought from them - can anyone vouch for them? Don't want some upsell company like Abe's of Maine. Thanks.

Abt is great to deal with. Very legitimate company. I have bought my last 2 tvs from them. They don't try to upsell you. Chat, email or call them. They are very friendly and quick to respond.

Uhg. I never knew that. I guess it works the same way as that Ebate site people were talking about. Screwed myself out of $40 on my speakers. Luckily I did use a rebate site for the TV I just bought, so just losing out on 1%. I'm already at my $1,500 limit for the quarter.
