From techbargins, have no idea if it works because I don't have an account and already have my 60VT60 on the way from amazon for the previous $1647 pm.

Amazon shows 59 P60VT60s left. They had over 130 when I ordered yesterday and over 170 the day before. They're moving fast!

How are you able to view the remaining stock of an item on Amazon? Just curious.

After putting the TV in your cart click on edit cart and type 999 for the quantity. If there is less than 999 it will tell you how many are left.

Anyone try ordering one of these TV's via Panasonic's online shop? I'm wondering how that went and who they use for delivery (especially if you discovered any problems and had to return).

Local Best Buy has no stock so if I order: Amazon or Panasonic. Any opinions

Thanks,
-dan

What model are you looking for? The store doesn't have one, or is the local warehouse out?

Fellow EU members, is there ANY chance whatsoever to buy the TC-P60VT60 within the EU? Thanks!

My 60VT60 was finally delivered this morning from my Amazon order on 12/20.
CEVA delivered this morning by two guys but it was essentially a drop off inside service only. Box was pristine and so is the TV panel itself.
October build date. Will most likely wait 24 hours before I power it up as it is freezing here. Cannot wait to power up to see how this bad boy looks!

If the tv is delivered "white glove" they will power it on to make sure that it works. Is it bad to do this when the tv is cold? Which is preferred, letting the delivery guys turn it on at delivery when cold or waiting a day for it to warm up before powering on?

Same here, had to reschedule my Friday exchange/delivery to next Saturday. What's infuriating is that they came Thursday but didn't bring the new TV (60VT60). I bought a 55VT60 from BB before Christmas and several days later, the 60 went on sale so I paid the difference ($200) and they're exchanging the the two. This is my third exchange reschedule since Christmas (Dec. 30, Jan 2, 3 and now 11th).

In case there's something wrong with the panel, is the return window 30 days from delivery?

so annoying.. Did you not like the 55? or was that 60 price just too tempting?  How did the 55 picture look?

Couldn't resist moving up 5 inches for $200 since Panny will no be manufacturing plasmas. Since I know I will be exchanging the 55, I've been putting it through the paces and it's performed flawlessly! Very impressed!

I am an early VT60 adopter (may 2013), I negotiated what I believed to be a killer deal on that panel. $2599+tax and warranty total was around $3100(Best Buy). The last eight months have been pure HD bliss! Fast forward to Dec 1, while casually surfing the web, I stumble across a Cnet article where David Katzmaier is throwing a fit about Panasonic's decision to exit the plasma market. I immediately checked amazon to see the impact on pricing. The price was $2149 (65VT60), in a frenzy I ordered another VT60 for my empty man cave (waiting on OLED). I'm having a bit of a hang over on that rush decision. I usually agonize for a few weeks before firing off that kind of dough. To further complicate things the ZT60 has dropped to $2,799 and LG has dropped the pice on it's existing OLED panels and announced five upcoming OLED models for 2014 signaling the next gen panel wars could be closer than we may think. I called up amazon and verified that I have until 1/31/14 to return. Any thoughts?

Did you order another 65" VT or 60" VT? If it was a 65" than you might want to wait. Last I checked Amazon still had over 700 in stock. If it was a 60" than they might not last long. Less than 50 in stock.

It looks like they have zero of the 65ZT60 and 274 of the 65VT60 44 of the 60VT60 remaining, they are going fast.

Just checked again. Amazon has 769 of the 65VT. Make sure you only have the one item in the cart when you check the qty. Otherwise it will round the number to the max you can have in your cart.

Stores show 7-10 days, so they don't have them. Amazon and Panasonic sites show availability (or at least they did). Looking at the: P60VT60 it would replace a 50" rear projection. It gets us 5" in screen height and 9" in width improvement over what we have now.

Sounds like everyone has had good success with Amazon, I'm wondering if same is true with Panasonic's online shop. Delivery time frame doesn't matter.

Ah, okay I see. Do you think the best play on the 65VT60 is coming around super bowl time? $2149 was a steal. You see it going any lower?

Most stores have never had them in the store. While some stores carry inventory of Large(60"+) TV's, most rely on the local warehouses to house this inventory. This is normal. While 65VT is getting a little tight, most other models should be available through Best Buy. Just go in to the store and talk to the Magnolia sales people. They sell them directly out of the warehouse, not the store. Again, this isn't an indication of low stock.

So bestbuy warehouse was no help with shipping my order today.. Even tho they canceled my order yesterday they insist they can't send it till Tuesday.. I understand the weather issue yesterday but they have trucks running today.. You would think they would get yesterday's orders out today.. Tuesday doesn't work for me unless I take off from work and I won't be here all weekend.. I might end up just canceling it.. I don't want to wait over 2 weeks for something I spent so much $$ on.. Plus the warehouse people were being dicks..if I can find another store local with it in stock BB might be losing my business..

Unfortunately in a situation like this it is easier moving a single days' worth of appointments rather than shifting an entire weekend schedule. I'm sure they are bringing in additional labor to help catch up, but with weather delays like they've seen they can't just drop everything and create an extra day to get orders out. Not making any excuses for the warehouse workers attitudes. There is no excuse for that. But you can't help the weather. It sucks, I know, but it is what it is.

I totally understand.. I guess it bothers me bc I had no say in the matter.. Was an email I got late Thursday afternoon. Not even a phone call.. I obviously chose that day bc it worked for me.. I think it's unreasonable for them to assume I can just accept any day/time they prefer.. At this point I would have to use time at work if I want the tv this week... Plus I left a call for the store manager I bought from and he hasn't called back lol..

Thanks for this. After watching prices since November I jumped on a 55VT60. No tax and free shipping made it $1,529 out the door. It's going to replace my beloved 42" Hitachi Director's Series set from 2007, so while it's a little bittersweet I should be in for quite an upgrade (the Hitachi is a 1024x1024 ALiS display).

I've been watching the quantity of the 55VT60 on Amazon for the past couple days, and it's fallen from around 170 to 86 in the last 48 hours. Looks like they're moving fast.

I suppose your decision depends upon your tolerance for waiting out OLED, but if it was me I wouldn't be basing my decision upon the initial availability of OLED. Remember early plasma? Pioneer's 50" PRO-1000HD, which was introduced in 2002, had a resolution of only 1280x768, a contrast ratio of 700:1, a panel half-life of 30,000 hours, all for a street price of around $10,000. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a reasonably mature OLED set in the size you're considering isn't available until the 2016 model year (third generation consumer display, more or less).

Since the VT60's performance under controlled lighting is considered the same as the ZT60, but you get more light output, I think the VT60 is a better bet for your application.

My white glove experience was:

Ordered my 65VT60 from Amazon on the 10 of Dec. and scheduled for a delivery date of Dec. 18th between 10AM and 1PM.   Delivery driver calls at 2:30PM to say he was 5 mins. out.  15 minutes later a CEVA van double parks in front of the building and I watch the driver (by himself for the entire delivery) get out and pull the set out the van and into the street, stand the box on it's side while he pulls the hand-truck out, the box swaying in the wind the entire time but never falls over.  He brings the box in the building (still not sure how he was able to open the door to the building and bring the box in alone) and I wait for him in the hallway.  He brings the box in through my small doorway and I had to help him the entire time.  He actually was cool with helping me move my 47" Olevia 747i (120 - 137 lbs.) LCD that the new set would replace.  He mentioned that he delivered and set up 5 identical TV's in the past week so he knew exactly how to put the stand together but he couldn't lift the set himself.  So together we assembled the TV onto the stand and I inspect it with a fine tooth comb and a flashlight for about 10 minutes or so.  After everything checks out physically, we lift it onto my TV stand and I plug it up (into power and an HDMI source) to make sure it powers on, check for hours used and check for dead/stuck pixels.  He even attempted to do the main menu setup but I told him just to bypass everything and I would go through the details later.  I also checked to make sure the antenna input worked along with the other 2 HDMI inputs.  Gave him a tip, cut all identifying labels with my name and address from the outside of the box and he took the box and packaging with him.

As of right now, I'm on 315 hours, the planets are back in alignment and everything in the world is back to normal.

I know, it's a little dramatic.  :p

Glad to help man!....make sure you direct your buddies to my s60 and ps64 in the classifieds here so I can afford a 65ZT  :D

How do you check the hours used and for dead/stuck pixels?
