I don't think anybody knows exactly when the 50" will roll out.
Hey guys, should we just put Sam's Club pricing and info in here as well? Meaning basically, could this just become an S64 deals thread?
I am already a free member to Sam's Club as a secondary member (family). So trying to decide which route to go here. Use Sam's or open a Costco membership.
Costco - 65S64 -$1399.99 - shipping $100 ("The estimated delivery time will be approximately 7-10 business days from the time of order.")- http://www.costco.com/Panasonic-65%22-1080p-Plasma-TV-TC-65PS64.product.100043008.html?catalogId=10701&categoryId=30771&identifier=plasma-tvs&langId=-1&storeId=10301
Sam's Club - 65S64 - $1398.00 - shipping $49 (at least to my zip..."arrives May 6-14")http://www.samsclub.com/sams/65-600hz-plasma-tv-1080p-2-hdmi-wifi/prod9300314.ip?sprodId=prod9300314
Shipping shows $49 to my house. Really don't see why I shouldn't just go ahead and select that. Gas would at least cost me $16 and I am not sure if my Explorer could fit it upright anyways (would have to do a diagonal, or horizontal trasport I think...not sure). Not to mention I would not have to set aside time to go get it. IDK though.
Sam's club extended warranty info and pricing -if purchased - http://graphics.samsclub.com/images/new_brochure102209.pdf
Seems like it is basically $60 per year for either a 2 or 3 year plan...with them throwing in an additional year if you are a "Plus" member. (Sorry not sure what a "Plus" member entails.)
What do you guys think of Sam's extended warranty. I get a little confused by the underwriters and all of that. Just confused what the procedure would be. Would I be dealing with Sam's in 3-4 years or is it entirely some other company? I suppose at least Sam's would be there to assist...worse case scenario.
I've been a member at Sam's for a long time now. I couldn't find any info on what happens if you are no longer a member. I was also wondering what would happen with your warranty if you went with Costco and then cancelled your membership. Do you get that 2nd year? I assume after that it doesn't matter with squaretrade. I wonder what is the better warranty...squaretrade, or that Sam's extended warranty?
I really tried to find some info on Sam's cash back. I, at one point, had a small credit associated with my account at Sam's. I assume it is still associated with my account, just haven't used it in 5 years or so. Last weekend when I stopped in there, they said there were no current incentive programs (0%) with electronics. But the did mention if I used their credit card I would get an additional year of warranty and some cash back (like $40 or something). But I tried to find the info on that now, but could not find anything on their website.
Also I know I read it somewhere (legitimately from Discover), but isn't Discover Card offering $100 back to current card holders who purchase of an item over $1,000 by May 31, 2013? I know people are talking about it, myself included, but now I can't seem to find any legitimate link or information on that. Hmmm. Anybody know where I can find that info?
I also happen to read that Discover Card offers an additional year of warranty on top of the manufacturers warranty (I think that is a pretty standard credit card policy on most, but I think I saw someone post thinking Discover didn't do this).
What credit cards does each Costco and Sam's take?
I know Sam's takes a Discover Card, but I don't what else they accept.
Anyways, I think I am ready to go ahead and purchase the 65S64, just trying to find my best deal.
Right now I am leaning towards Sam's. But I need to find the info on that Discover card deal. And I need to find out if I should do an extended warranty. Also wonder if I am missing something on Costco.
BTW, FYI, I have yet to find tires lower priced than Sam's...like $100-$200 cheaper on all 4 than my local tire shops...if that helps anybody in their decision.
