no shipping
all floor displays....like 20 left from what I could see online the oter day
I looked at one at their South bend Indiana store a few weeks ago...great shape all accessories
they quoted me $2000 and had dropped from $2500 in 15 minutes
If I was looking for a TV I would have offered them 41700
You would you need to drive to one of their retail stores that still has inventory....inspect the TV's, negotiate your price, pay and take it home with you

Unless you live in that area then they could deliver it

Though that program may have expired this past weekend

Otherwise if you want to hunt...there has to be an open box unit at a retailer here at some point for less than $2K
people have bought open box units at best buy...64" for $2K

I think you can easilly get a retailer to do that....as far as I cant tell this is a pretty profitable Tv and they have some room to move

Conn's ...an authorized samsung dealer...was selling new in box 64"s last December for $1999...$1799 open box

I agree with your statement about not touching Nice with a 10ft pole

How willing are the guys at BB/Magnolia to negotiate on the F8500? A guy I was talking with there the other day said he anticipated price drops "in the next few weeks". Wondering if I could just try negotiating the price down rather than waiting for the reduction to happen and inventory to sell out.

my experience in dealing with them
they can cop "who's on first" attitude in regard to price matching...or they can be pretty reasonable
They seem to be more reasonable when you have some sufficient grounds...ie...proof that they are selling above market price

Photos..other ads etc

something from an unauthorized retailer would likely not sway them
If you think you have gotten ahold of someone that is willing to talk to about some negotiation
I would take their name and keep in contact with them and let them know your target price
Make the target price reasonable

You have to remember...BB is probably the largest retailer...by a long shot...for the F8500 and they should have some insight on what the market is doing..inventory levels etc

My local Paul's TV has a 64f8500 Display for 2400. Don't know the hours but the guy said it had been out for about 3 months and they run the screen wipe every few days. They are running loops of Life of PI, Epic, Skyfall, and some other stuff. Didn't see any image retention. Picture looked really good. It's in Flint, MI.

I am going to buy the Samsung PN64F8500, however I do want the best price. I reached out to a few online retailers, ones that I have dealt with in the past. But this time...I felt like they were up-selling me...for really nothing.

Here is the link of the two different types...of the same product? Example:
http://cameras.abesofmaine.com/searc...N64F8500&asug=

Both are the same, but they claim to me that the "panels" are different, one is made third party, and the other is made by Samsung. However Samsung told me that's not the case, but was not real clear. I of course want the best picture. But he claims the CA/AU panel (the cheaper one) is sold in places like Costco. While the US02 ones are made within Samsung. Is this a scam just to get me to pay more? Or is there really a difference between the two? He is offering me the better one for 500 dollars more then the much cheaper one. I know I may not know as much about this as some of you guys, but I really need to buy this, but I don't want to get screwed.

I went through this exact situation with East Coast TVs. They tried to upsell me on a "Samsung Panel" for the 64" F8500 and wanted an extra $400. I said yes initially but then asked in the main F8500 thread and also googled around. It seems only Samsung makes the Plasma panels, and it's the LCD panels made by other manufacturers for Samsung TVs. Basically, they are not being honest with you. Whether it is intentional or not, the bottom line is Samsung is the only that makes the panels for plasmas. I called and got my money back from ECTV. This forum saved me $400 and the shame of being scammed.

Thank you so much mbeezie. I really mean that. Thank you. I will call them and have them give me the "cheaper" version before they ship it out.

I'm assuming none are out of box. Because it said nothing on that. But it upsets me that he upsold me, and worried me that I was getting a lesser product.

LOL DUDE... Always try searching threads first if possible... 2-3 pages ago we were all over this EXACT same topic...

Anyway, its hard to know if there really are differences from 2013-2014 build dates, and or that AU-CA panel is real... I dont believe it is, but they COULD still have 2013's left they want to move for the 2014's but if that were the case, why the instant upsell? I would do the upsell 2014 with white glove potentially, but I think BB and others will be around $2-2.2k on this soon, which is why im not freaking out yet and gonna be a little patient.. But the 24 mo financing at BB was going on and hopefully i can talk them into that again...

i would scroll back through this thread and look for HLDAN's reply to me...

Ya, but I felt the answer was not clear enough. So I wanted to restate it with a link to what I was talking about.

The white glove is just them bringing it in and plugging it in for you yes?

I'm not too concerned about that. I asked a Samsung representative and they said they are the same. Hard to tell if they are telling the truth. But I just did not buy this. Both Nice Electronics and Abe's told me the same thing. Nice Called me to "confirm" my TV order...then he started telling me about the panels. So I think that it was a bait and switch, for nothing. I could care less if it was made in 2013, it's still the highly reviewed set I want, and sealed in the box. So I think I'm going to call tomorrow and ask for my money back. And get the cheaper one. The difference is 2200 for the one they claim is not real Samsung panels, and 2700, he sounded like he would go lower, for the other one. He said Costco does this same thing and buys the cheap ones....I really doubt that.

I am looking at some of the features....the cheaper one has no 3D glasses listed, which I don't care about. Has anyone bought from Nice Electronics?

FYI. During my search for a zt60 this weekend I went into a lot of Paul's TVs. They all have the 64f8500 stickered at about $2400 but will come down to $2200. Many salesman also told me to hold off buying it because they anticipated a drop to $1999 shortly.

Man....I need help. They have claimed they have already shipped it. And I can tell they are lying to me. They say the cheaper version is the "Commercial" version and the other is Retail. They say "Oh I will send you the link to the difference" but they have not. I kept complaining, and he said he would call me back to see if he could get it cheaper. I know they are playing hard ball. There is no such thing as commerical/Retail is there? They say the cheaper one does not have Warranty with Samsung, which I find hard to believe.

I wouldn't pay $2400 for a display model. They were selling new ones for not that much more when they were knocking 15% off with their coupon online.

There may be some truth to that. Someone posted before in either this thread or one of the other F8500 threads about a commercial version of the F8500, which was the same set only with (I think) a shorter warranty and no 3D glasses. Maybe also only 1 remote. I think someone confirmed this with Samsung. A thread search on "commercial" might find it for you.

Maybe print the page with the date in the margin as a PDF if you have that option. Otherwise, you could open a second, smaller window with the date from one of those time websites (e.g., http://time.gov/HTML5/) and have it in front for a screenshot.

why do people deal with the Abe's/Nice ECTV's?

there are pages and pages in this thread about "buying the old version vs new one"...insurance....payment issues...and on and on

why deal with that?

its been well documented that TV is the same now...as it was...so that 2013 build is the same as the 2014 one

I did pull trigger at Sears. I bought it at 2600 plus tax. I got extended warranty through them but I will cancel it since it is extremely expensive. Overall I got ok deal.

Conn's sold brand new ones last year( where I bought mine) at $1999

today...it seems you would be lucky to get that price for an open box display unit

I went to Conn's to see if they sell them, but they have stopped selling them now. So I guess it was their clearance sale.

I had gone to couple of different location before i went to this specific store for price match to east coast TVs. Rep I talked to, I told him i would open credit card with sears if they would price match it. So He talked to manager. Manager didn't price match dollar to dollar but he offered me to sell it at 2600. It seemed liked good deal to me since I had went to almost all the best buy location, Fry's electronics, Conns and Microcenter for price match. All of them denied. So I took next best thing. Heck, I even tried bunch online retailers which I pulled from Samsung's authorized dealers list.

Hey if you live in Houston, I can help you guys out to get same deal.

there are pages and pages in this thread about "buying the old version vs new one"...insurance....payment issues...and on and on

why deal with that?

its been well documented that TV is the same now...as it was...so that 2013 build is the same as the 2014 one

I bought my Pioneer (5080HD) set from Abe's in 2008 and did not have any issues with the store. It shipped on time and was well packaged on a pallet. I also had the TV serviced under warranty once a few years later (the blinking power light issue) - with no issues from Pioneer regarding where I bought the set.
Of course vendors/people change so maybe they (Abe's) is not so good anymore.
If you pay with credit card you can stop payment if your not happy or don't receive the set in the time promised.

Just scored a brand new in box 64in to replace my unrepairable Sharp Elite 70in.
$2439.60 Out the door AFTER taxes from an authorized reseller w/ 12 months no interest & free delivery. I was lucky today..........I take possession Tues.

This was after visiting 2 BestBuys in NJ today who wouldn't budge below the $3099 +tax on pricing, & making two calls to two other authorized sellers to get quotes that were too high for me, but lower than BB. The third store I visited today, NOT BestBuy, hooked me up.
