That's a flipping awesome price. I just got a 65VT60 for $2400 but if I could find a 64F8500 for $2K I'd buy it too just on principle!

That's awesome! I'm glad some of you guys will still be able to jump on that. I'm at BB right now and I do see the 51 inch has been reduced to 1699 from 1899 but the 60 is still 2799 and the 64 3399.

I don't know if Conn's ever carried the 51 inch but I'd be VERY curious to know what they were selling those for as to me even 1500 bucks for a TV feels crazy these days considering how good the Panny S60 is for example at just 700 bucks (for the 50 incher, which was fine for me). This store didn't have any of the 51, though, not even on display.

I saw the 60" and 51" today at Conns, and if I recall correctly, I think that 51" was priced right at $999 close out?
That seems like a great deal too!?

BTW, I'm the proud owner of a new 64" F8500!!! Yes sir I am. smile.gif

Thanks to all on this thread that helped open my eyes to this sale, I feel very fortunate to have your help.

You see, back in August we had our house broken into and I had a Samsung UN60ES8000 that I had just bought in Dec '12, it was stolen and a 17" MacBook Pro. We got our insurance money, but I've been holding out for the year end and black friday sales, this one seems to have just dropped into my lap, just for me. Glad I waited. Hated to think about spending another $3k, but I know I liked this TV, even more so at almost $1k off!!

Thanks again all.

Sometimes new price tags don't make it out onto the floor. Just ask them to check the price in their system. The sale prices apply to all locations.

Though I am an employee of Magnolia Home Theater, the views and opinions I express on this forum are those of my own and not my employer.

Good for you man, that's awesome!

I'm curious to see what next year's Samsung plasmas bring...the extra brightness wouldn't hurt in the room where my 65VT60 is. Maybe this time next year I'll stumble upon a similar deal! My 58A550 is still humming along fine so I'd have no problem giving Samsung another go.

First off, I am glad a very crappy situation ended up turning out nicely despite a bit of a wait.

Secondly, the 51F8500 at 999 bucks would have been right up my alley and well worth the extra 400 bucks over the 599.00 S64 I was *really* jonesing for from Costco. But... I can't complain about the extra screen real estate, and it's a beautiful TV.

Yeah, it allowed me time to re-study, if you will, and realize that my reservations with the LED I had, were all the more reason to go with a Plasma. I had steered away from Plasma because of preconceived and older information about the technology. Then I was able to study more and read more about why Plasma was better for me and come to this decision. So the bad situation turned out to be good for me in the long run for sure.

Thanks to the peeps that posted the Conn's price. I picked one up today new in the box for $1,997.00! They even have tilting Sanus mounts for half price, $65.00.

Good deal on the Samsung PN64F8500 64 inch for $2399 at AllTimeTv. Never heard of them but the price seems very competitive.

Has the 51" version ever been lower than $1600 outside of Conn's? Seems that was the best price on Amazon history. (Camel)

Debating holding off buying a F5300 for a few months and saving up for the F8500.. wondering how likely we'll see the 51" below that..

Just wanted to let you peeps know that I purchased the last boxed F8500 60 at Conns a while ago for under $1500.00. Don't really know if that's a steal or not but they already had it marked down at just under 2k. Hope it's worth it. I will be picking it up tomorrow evening after 6:00 and get it all set up for football this weekend. They still have a display but didn't ask about the price on that one.

BTW they also have a bunch of the 5300 sets at cheap prices in the OKC NW Expressway store just in case anyone is looking.

Got my 64" F8500 there this week, just got it unboxed and setup today, running it now. I'm already way more pleased with the very little I've watched on it, over the UN60ES8000 that was stolen out of my house back in August. This set, all be it, bigger, 64 vs 60, just has a better picture and especially from the angles, hated that washed out look on the LED.

Rick, do you remember what the 51" F8500 was going for at that Conns?

I didn't see any 8500 51s in stock. Didn't even know they made that size. But I bought my last plasma at Conns a couple years ago. Top of the line LG(PK950 I think) at the time and got a great deal on that one also. They aren't shy about dropping the price if you ask them. The 50 inch LG will now be going to the bedroom. It still works great BTW but I just couldn't pass up on the 60 F8500 at the price. I was expecting it to be just under 2k and that is the price they had on it. Think it was marked $1997.00. I told the guy I seen it online somewhere for under $1500.00 and he came back a minute later and marked $1497.00 on the tv and said this was last one in stock so I jumped on it. I also didn't see any F8500 64s,not even a display. They have A bunch of 5300 & 5500 on sale at crazy low prices.

Can't wait to get the set this evening and set it up. I did watch the display they had on in the store and I could tell that it was in torch mode. Looked really bright for a plasma. This tv should be great once tuned in under a lower light setting. For my money nothing beats a plasma for in the home tv viewing.

Now I went to BB before I went to Conns. I was gonna check out the Panny but they didn't have any 55-60 STs in stock. But what I did see is an Ultra HD tv. Oh my! They had a loop of downtown city settings running and I can say without question that I was blown away. I have never seen anything like it. I was shocked, seriously. If you haven't seen this you should check it out.

No Black Friday Specials on the PN64F8500 here in Canada, at least that is advertised - $3500 !
The Dealer I bought from, has dropped the 64" Model since it's not selling. 60" is the favourite. People cross border shopping for the 64"?

1497 is the correct price in their system for the 60, which is what I got mine for and then came here and announced the find. 1997 is the price for the 64, so it sounds like they had it tagged incorrectly or maybe still had an older tag on the display one. It sounds like Conn's really is NOT on most people's shopping lists for the high end model TVs or perhaps there is a perception that it is only a store for people with bad credit (which their advertising doesn't do anything to help) because my sales person was also surprised that there were any left for so long down in Corpus.

Their market coverage is as big if not bigger than a lot of the retailers mentioned on this forum so you'd think they'd be cross shopped more often. Granted, when they aren't having a sale or a clearance their posted prices can be silly, but I saw that same thing at HHGreg, too. They both rely on heavy sales tactics by the floor associates and they seem to both expect people to negotiate pricing.

$2000 is a stupid-low price. Conn's was almost certainly losing money. I doubt Chris would go that low, though I guess I shouldn't speak for him.

well that is the price I want, but I would love if a retailor that Amazon price matched with would be available for that price. East Coast Tvs and AlltimeTvs have it at that price also. Anyone have any experience with them?

There are two ECTV threads that I have seen here that detail customer experiences. Some fine, some not so fine, some bad.

I haven't been able to find many negatives on Greystone, and just decided to place my order with them. Will let you know how it goes I guess.

I saw the threads for eastcoast and alltimetv. Right now I am not prepared to have a purchase such as this go through a retailer with a poor return policy. Hoping Amazon will lower sometime soon. Interested to hear about your experience with greystone.

The good news is that you can just walk right in to any Conn's that has this TV in stock and get the 1497/1997 60/64 inch prices with no haggling or coupon cutting type things necessary. The bad news is the closest Conn's to you is Arizona. But... if you can track one down at one of the AZ stores, the savings still sound like they're more than worth the drive depending on how far it is for you.
