I think the fix is putting foam between the fan and the front of the TV, all of them come with on the rear side of the fans as far as I know.

Congrats on the new ZT!

I got a June build as well. I'd say the noise is there from the start, but the first few days I had mine on the stand and thus further from the wall and it wasn't objectionable. Honestly, on the stand it was barely noticeable unless you actively listened for it. Once mounted on the wall, it became very obvious to even casual observers and this prompted me to get Panasonic out to install the fix. The fix doesn't completely eliminate the sound. With the foam installed and mounted on the wall it is still not as quiet as when it was on the stand, but it's a decent improvement. I suspect that some wall treatments behind the set will make it so it won't be heard at all from the seats.

Thanks for the tip my friend. I have my TV mounted on the wall and I honestly don't hear any fan noise. I hope that it does not start to appear all of a sudden. If it does, I'll have to give Panasonic a call.

It's either there or it's not. I noticed the fans on my ZT as soon as I powered it on back in June. I suppose anything is possible, but the one sure thing about this noise is its consistency.

Thanks for the heads up on the great deal on the 60ZT60, a nice $199 price cut from this morning's price. Been waiting for an Amazon sale on this for a while. So ordered one just now... thought I'd better get the order in now before they are all gone. Will be a great replacement for my cheap P50UT50, which is now being moved to the bedroom.

That is a great deal on the 65" ottoburgess!

Looks like the Amazon ZT60 deal was a one day thing. Prices are back up today.

Congrats. I have been waiting for a while as well. Sales tax is inevitable for me, so this drop eased the pain somewhat. Now to look for a replacement sub-50" set for my office!

In my experience, you can do a little better. There are tilt mounts on monoprice for $40. They can typically throw in $200 of in store credit when you're shopping. They want you to jump on the stand because they pay next to nothing for them. They also get paid when you finance something. They benefit from it. Should any of your payments be late, problem in the mail, etc, that 0% goes to about 20%. Also, if you can't afford to pay cash for a $3k elective item, then you really shouldn't be buying it.

0% financing COSTS the retailer money, my friend, lots of money. Retailers do make money on the 36 or 48 months w/payments option. Your interest rate there is 12%-25% depending on which store etc. cool.gif

It's all based on percentages of people who pay on time vs. those who can't for whatever reason and miss a payment. A lot can happen in 3 years. You'd be surprised how many people take the 0% offer thinking it will be great then end up missing a payment when something happens and getting slapped with a huge interest rate increase. The financing company then makes up whatever they lost out on from full-term 0% financing customers and then some. This happened to my brother when he lost his job. He ended up paying a lot more than if he just had paid cash at the beginning.

Any time one takes on debt there is always a risk of paying more than they thought they would.

I jumped on the BB $2899 deal last night, unfortunately it was too late to go to store so I could not haggle, and figured both BB and Amazon would bump the price back up after cyber Monday. I have had good experiences with my local BB so I am happy.

Yes, but the net result is that 0% financing costs the retailer money. The whole point of me bringing it up was to correct "housequestions" assertion that opting for 0% financing is somehow a benefit in a negotiation with a sales person when it comes to talking them down in price. It is the opposite. They do make money when you opt for the financing WITH interest though.

I don't think it's fair to say to someone they shouldn't be buying it.. just saying. That's their call. My experience with 0% interest financing, has been swell. Just make sure you are on top of the payments, and it works.

Exactly, there's an inherent risk of course but typically those irresponsible with credit don't get those offers. wink.gif I settled for a "lesser" 24-month 0% offer in June and expect to have it paid in full by February 2014. Housequestion has shown himself to be on the preachy side, and if I were to don his hat, I would remind the thread participants that we're wandering in off-topic territory. tongue.gif

First, to all of you haters there, perhaps you can try being objective and instead of whining about my answer, you could grow a set and do the guy the honor of actually answering his question. From what I see here, I'm the only one who did. My comments were an answer to his question. You can feel free to read back through the last several pages to see what I wrote.

0% financing doen't cost the sales people anything. They get what's called a SPIF in the sales world on doing it. There's a reason why those people at BB or something like a car dealership want to bring up things like financing and extended warranties. They don't give it based on credit rating. It doesn't work that way at a place like Best Buy.

AGR correctly pointed out that you'd be surpised at what can happen. The 0% agreement likely reads about as long as a credit card agreement and good luck being a layman or even a lawyer and fully understanding most clauses. Quite commonly, they retroactively charge you all of the interest if something happens with your payment. As in, something is a day late. Store based credit is shady. Again, if you don't have the financial means to afford something as frivolous as a TV without financing it, then you can't afford it period. Feel free to talk to a fianncial advisor about that.

Instead of whining, you guys can try to help someone in the future with actually answering their question.

Wow! The Plasma Display Forum has really hit rock bottom. The threads as of late have been completely ridiculous as of late and I've often wondered if they are even moderated anymore. What a shame...

On another note, I can absolutely attest to receiving a greater discount from Paul's AFTER I mentioned I had a Paul's TV account and would opt for 6 months, 0% interest.

This is just flat-out incorrect.

To answer the OP's question though, you got a great deal. You should be able to find the pen online. Some keyboards do work with TV's, but it seems to be very model-dependent. Hope this helps. smile.gif

Thinking of picking one up for the $2,899...

I've been watching prices for months and I'm thinking it's not going to go much below that.

I have BB price matching Paul's

What do you guys think? Pull the trigger?

I've been to about 5 Best Buys. JUST getting them to price match, unless it's 2900 tax in, is leaving money on the table. Typically, you can get them to offer in store credit to go along with it. They try to push you to use that on high margin items like mounts that can be gotten much more cheaply on monoprice.

Go back to the store and ask again. You get different answers based on the shift and very different answers based on the Best Buy.

Quite honestly, the BEST deal is just get it from Paul's. They offer free white glove delivery. They come in and set it up for you. Do the testing before you sign for it. You'll skip the tax which in a lot of states is $200+. They're also the ones pushing the price to this level and letting you get the deal in the first place.

"I can absolutely attest to receiving a greater discount from Paul's AFTER I mentioned I had a Paul's TV account and would opt for 6 months, 0% interest."

Yes, merchants get payments behind the scenes when you finance things.
