That is probably correct. That is why Magnolia is all over it. 1k profit per sale. Wants to sell as many as possible before exclusive is lifted. But its not working. They are not selling as anticipated. Exclusive will be lifted and you will be buying them for $2500 to $2700. This is a failed experiment with Magnoilia-Panasonic on the level of Verizon-Google Nexus

7.2 with Thiel Power Points, twin Seaton Submersive F2's in Espresso. Krell Showcase Amp, Marantz Pre-Pro, Richard Grey Power, Control 4 Home Automation, lots of Blue Jean Cables, Oppo 103D, Sony DVD 777 400 Disc Changer and Samsung Plasma 64" 8500 all in a Salamander Synergy 247 in Walnut.

As someone posted elsewhere (speakerphile?) BB/Magnolia has cut prices for the ZT60 at least for this week. $2699 for the 60", in store only. Don't see it advertised, but it saved me money -- so thanks to whoever posted it.

Garman,
Would be interested to hear if BB gets back to you or not. I am betting on the 'not'. Not impressed with any of their salespeople in San Diego.

Hello mluder, They said yes to the $600, but I wanted more. I'm with you thinking $2999 sounds about right.

Looks like thing are quickly changing for the 60" and 65" ZT60. I'm on two dealer's ZT60 wait last and I just got a emailed letter from one of the stores about the launch of Panasonic's unrestricted availability to a wider, but still select group of dealers.

Not sure what's happening, but my guess is lower prices and some kind of ZT60 upgrade is in the wings. All good things come to those who wait. smile.gif

It's really nothing that exciting. Just some deals on some TV's.

OK - thought I was going crazy - went to BB tonight to see if the ZT pricing was reduced. They didn't know what I was talking about so I tried to pull Speakerphile's post from this morning with the sale prices on my phone and couldn't find His post or my question to him. My wife was getting annoyed with me while I tried to find it but now I understand that his post was deleted. Not sure why though. After a lot of confusion and checking the sales associate found the "in store" pricing.

It turns out I 'm not allowed to post deals that are going on at Magnolia, since I work for them.

If money was no object i would have bought a zt.

But i did have a chance to see the zt and vt side by side at magnolia and my untrained eye thought i saw a difference but i am pretty sure it was the zt being more expensive telling me it was better. So after thinking objectively i realized my untrained eye would be more then happy with the vt plus going for the zt was quite a stretch for my wallet. The comparison was done in a dim lit area of the magnolia section of best buy so i felt the lighting was pretty good for a comparision. Sadly the rep had no idea where the remotes were so i could not see how they were setup at the time but man, they looked very similar.

I must admit i am jealous of those springing for the zt and enjoy reading why they are pleased or will be pleased once setup and tuned with the purchase over the vt and 8500.

I was at Best Buy last night. The 60" ZT was the same price right now as the VT, $2700.
I had planned to get a VT, but will pick up a ZT today instead.

$2700 was for 60" ZT or 65" VT

Still deciding between the two....

Which is the best bet?

I just bought my 65 ZT60 from the Magnolia Design Center in Chicago. The guy that I worked with (Matthew) was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was very pleased with the service that I received from that store each time that I went in to look at the three models that I was looking at. Apparently, MDC has 36 mos interest free financing while all of the other Magnolia stores and BB stores have 24 mos.

I think both have very similar pq when i viewed both with my non expert eyes. So from there it just all depends on the size of tv you want and how big your room is. Also factor in that the zt is probably slightly better in rooms with more light. If it was me i would go with the zt but my wallet only allowed a 60vt60.

There was a $900 price drop on the 65" ZT at BB. It was priced the same as the VT today. Thankfully they gave me a price adjustment since I bought in mid-June and was a silver rewards member.

Thanks to John, I was able to price match ZT 65" for $3,199 today. They just refunded the difference from my original purchase.

Now that makes the fan noise a little more bearable imo. The tv is now cheaper than the 64F8500 which many have returned for loud buzzing.

Congrats to those who have procured the better deal. I paid $3,094.99 + tax (and had to travel over 700 miles to pick it up and bring it home on top of that) at the beginning of June.

You are still good wink.gif

Assuming 20 mpg on your car, 35 gallons are used @ 3.60 about $126.00 which gives the total of $3,221.

Edit: and you paid tax on 3096 which at 7.5% is about $8 savings, so the total is $3213.

I've been doing the back and fourth with the X900 and ZT60 for about a month now; just got back from BB; after pulling the trigger on the 65ZT60 at $3,199.00 - $3,800 price difference sealed the deal.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Will this deal be going on tomorrow as well? I will be going into BB tomorrow morning to price match if it is.

Also I purchased the TV at a MDC, but there is a MHT closer to me. Can I go into a MHT to price match or do I have to go back the same store i purchased at?

I really hope the deal is still around tomorrow so I can price match. I bought a 65ZT60 for full MSRP.

Pricing has changed slightly, but they are still on sale. If you purchased at an MDC, you will have to go back to an MDC for a price adjustment. You could also just try calling them. They may be able to take care of you over the phone.
