ABC warehouse in Michigan and Indiana has mostly display models and a few customer returns (65ZT), here's link to locations

http://www.abcwarehouse.com/product_catalog/pc_proddetails.asp~assort_id~220298~prod_id~24009

Before I settled on my 60ZT I called a few of the stores near me, they were asking between $2800-3200 the salesmen i spoke with each said they "work with me if i came into the store" the one display i saw (lansing mall) wasn't turned on so they may not have many hours on them.

Ha.. Lansing mall. You know I think you and I are the only ones on this whole AVSforum that live in this town. I called that guy, he said he would sell me the floor model for 3200 or something crazy like that. Floor model?? uh no.. new .. yes. So luckily the other ABC warehouse on Penn had a new one.. bought it from them new same price with extended warranty. I wish I had bought it earlier from Amazon.. I was getting it for 2799 and free shipping.

Not sure on the build date, that's the only info I gathered when talking to them last week.  Sounds like the price when up though, ughh.

Especially if it craps out or has issues after the first 30 days. No MFGs warranty. Risky.

I am about to purchase the 60ZT60 from the Warehouse deals. Wondering what would be so risky? You can still purchase a Square Trade warranty. Now I'm questioning doing this. I have a 65VT60 that Amazon obviously can't replace (blacks seem defective as well as the line that goes down the left side)so I found this deal in the warehouse and spoke with Amazon about it. They do some testing on it to make sure it can be resold but we don't know why this was returned. Hoping it was someone who used
It very briefly or had a 8500 as well side
By side decided on the samsung. So idk if this is the best way to go about this or just deal
With my 65VT. Amazon also offered 300$ off a new TV item so now I'm really
Stuck

I upgraded from VT25 to ZT and it is unbelievable and I had my VT25 professionally calibrated. VT25 is good and PQ will beat any other set but ZT is just unbelievable. I also have 50" 7UY panel from Panasonic which will complete its 10 years in Sept 2014 hanging in my BR and its PQ is still great. So Panasonic makes good products if you can get ZT that was returned for any reason other than out of the box it had issues then you should be fine but I am not sure if Amazon can tell you return reason. I will get my set calibrated once it has 200+ hours. I believe Amazon will allow you to by Square Trade and if you can then it is based on the price you pay, I am buying Square Trade from Amazon for $186 for 4 years.

I have ordered two TVs and need your thoughts/advice on which to keep:

  • 'New-In-Box' 60" ZT60 from Best Buy - to be delivered in 2 weeks.
  • 'Used, Pristine Condition' 65" VT60 from Amazon Warehouse - to be delivered next week.

Given the seemingly high rate of damaged TVs being delivered to customers, I am hesitant to cancel one without knowing that the other will be delivered in good condition.

My dilemma:

  • I am tempted by the 65" VT because of the size, and reports that the image quality is as good as the ZT in a non-bright room, ..... , but it is 'used' and has no manuf. warranty.
  • The ZT is tempting because it is New, and from my local BestBuy, which provides excellent customer service - and likely to be problem free.

If both are delivered in good condition, I would keep one and want to sell the other. Has anybody had luck selling their VT or ZT on AVS Classifieds? Any advice would be appreciated.

On it's end does not matter. They're not that delicate...

Congrats on the TV though! I feel the urge to take a couple days off work and just stare at mine. smile.gif

Those of you that bought the ZT60's from Amazon Marketplace, do you think it's worthwhile to buy the Square Trade warranty?
I believe that you should either always buy extended warranties or never buy them, and I happen to fall into the never buy those camp. (but this set is causing me to worry a bit)

I agree with you - never buy them - use AMEX and get another year - BUT - the Amazon warehouse comes with no guarantee (just checked) - so I would spring for the Square Trade which is actually highly rated and relatively cheap!
