Update: There is another shipment of the 50 inch model to be delivered to Atlanta region stores around 8/22. Supposedly 72 will be shipped to that area, so sounds like another production run will soon be hitting stores. Price $599.

Apologies if this has been asked already but will ST60 calibration settings work on this tv? If not, are there any online calibration settings you'd recommend? Thanks!

I believe most people are using Fairchild's calibration settings which are on page 44 of the S60 thread.

I just got my S64 yesterday and I'm running the slides. What do I need to calibrate using Fairchilds settings? Do I need some kind of third party device?

Apologies in advance for the dumb questions, I'm completely new to all of this stuff!

You don't need anything. Just copy his data onto your TV using the menu system.

I would suggest using his "oldest" Cinema setting (check his signature, it's listed at the bottom).

Also, I didn't like Warm 2 at first, so I switched it to Warm 1. Looks fantastic.

We had to take it out of the box in the Costco parking lot to fit it into our Subaru Legacy. The armrests were an inch too much on either side. Just be careful.

Hello Gang.
So I have been drooling over the ST60 for the last few months.....
I read about a week ago that the 'lag' is better on the S60/64 for gaming...
So....I am trying to find a costco near the Buffalo area that has it in stock....
Anyone? anyone? Bueller?

I am in Toronto and the costco here is carrying it but at $950!!!!!!...
So if anyone has any info on a 50" near Buffalo...

Thanks

Have they ever carried the 55" version, my goal would be to get it if it becomes available.

Thanks WaTaGuMp...
I signed up for Costco.com (USA) with my Canadian costco membership which is cool....
But I can not finish the transaction....get the following message....
"Due to inventory changes, item 850640 in your cart is no longer available. This item cannot be purchased at this time."

So I guess I will wait for it to come back into inventory....
But thanks so much for the help, greatly appreciate it.

Thats crazy, earlier today I went to the site to look at TV's. Under the options it listed 1 Plasma TV, clicking it went right to the Panasonic. Now that option is gone, I saw the TV on their site Saturday also using my phone. If I end up seeing a 55", I am pulling he trigger the second I see it. I can take back my Samsung I bought from them.

Costco now shows the TV again on their site, but clicking on it then brings up the out of stock message.

Yup, I just ordered one of the 65" sets from Costco myself (hadn't even read here first, I happened to see it on the site and ordered, then came here to let anyone else who might be interested know...)

Anyone know if this will fit upright in a Scion XB? My buddy has one and I could get it tonight, but don't really know if the seats come out or fold down or what exactly. If I have to transport it laying flat is the risk really that great?

Before you purchase this TV, please know there appears to be a widespread problem on both the 65PS64 and the 50PS64. The first vertical row of pixels on the right side of the panel will be Purple and the first vertical row of pixels on the left side will be Yellow. I've called all Costco's in the Greater Phoenix, AZ area and all of the units they have on display have this issue. Visit the "Panasonic TC-65PS64 and TC-50PS64 ~OWNER'S POLL~" thread (http://www.avsforum.com/t/1474301/panasonic-tc-65ps64-and-tc-50ps64-owners-poll) for more info.

If you own this TV, check if you have this problem and call Panasonic immediately. I'm including images below.

I get that the thin bars bother you, and if the TV doesn't work for you then it's unfortunate, but I think what you're seeing is just a side-effect of how the colors are generated by plasma. Here's an extreme closeup of the pixels on a plasma display:

So when you're putting up a solid gray or white field like that, and one cluster of pixel columns is slightly obscured by the bezel, you'll see what results when your eyes blend what IS visible.

Supposedly many stores were supposed to get a new shipment on Aug. 22. But I got tired of waiting and just went down the street to Best Buy and got the 50ST60 for $999. So will have to wait to get the dent in the car fixed, but I think the extra $400 was worth it. Awesome TV, great picture. But I am sure the 50S64 is a great choice itself for $599.

I was at a Costco today, they had some of the 50" in the store. They only show the 65" on their website.

Are people saying it's a deal breaker and returning their sets? Is it noticeable without looking for it?

I think this is a textbook case of AVS Forum OCD. I'm pretty sure all Panasonic plasmas look like this. It's only a problem if you watch TV with your eyeball 2 inches from the screen and you like staring near the bezel.

aman74, see my post above explaining the source of those lines. It's not noticeable to most people (especially given average content instead of a solid white screen), but if someone's bothered by it, sure, I suppose it could be a dealbreaker. Personally, I'm not about to turn down a great deal on a great picture over something I can't see when watching from 10 feet away, though.

That's what I figured, but it wasn't readily apparent whether this was a real concern or not. Thanks for the replies.

The TV being referenced above is the same as the TC-P50S60 correct? The 50" is being offered for $599 right? Does anyone know if any of the Chicagoland stores have it in stock? Thanks in advance!
