Just called; they are carrying the 50" version of the S64 for $729. Includes 2-year warranty.

As far as I can tell, the S64 is the same as the S60 with the added anti-reflective coating (ie the Infinite Black Pro filter) found on the ST60. The S64 also has Bluetooth compatibility not found on the S60.

It makes me laugh when someone asks a question that no one could possibly know the answer to, lol.

If you want guesses, I flipped a coin and it said no.

This is my first TV purchase so I'm not familiar with price drops/sales, etc. Thanks for the guess though.

Pricematch to the in store price or the website? I'm just wondering if they are all 629 now in store? The other poster said 699, but never answered back about it as they were previously 729. Anyone know if the websites item number would be the same number they need to look it up in the store if I call to check price and stock?

Any current membership deals? I let mine expire and was wondering the best way to sign back up. Occassionaly they would have deals. Only thing I found a couple weeks ago was to get their Amex card and get a percent back and 3 percent back on certain other purchases. I already have a regular Amex and not a Costco Amex, so wasn't sure if it was worth it.

Thanks. This is an even better deal with the price drop. I wonder if the 65" dropped yet.

When I bought the 50in when it first came to the store it was 729. The next week it was 729 with a 30 instant rebate coming out to 699. Then this week they have it maked down to 629 out the door. The item number is the same in store as online also.

I wonder, is this a sale price or the "new price" for the S64? Even at this lower price, it is still more expensive than the S60 if it only available via an internet costco order (629+99 shipping > $700 price fo s60).

The Costco/Sams S64 has the anti-reflective screen the S60 does not. Some say Costco will make a price adjustment at the store, where it is $729. The store around me all have the 50" S64 but no 65" S64. So I am waiting for them to offer the free shipping to save the $100 shipping fee.

Unfortunately our local Costco (50 mi away) does not have any of the S64's in stock so I'm restricted to ordering on-line. I'd pull the trigger on the 50S64 at this price but we're leaving on vacation in 13 days and it likely would not arrive until after we are out of town... Easier to wait until we get back but I want to avoid the higher price... Think it will be safe to wait?.

Purchased mine at the 729.99 with instant rebate for 699.99 on June 30th. Went in two days ago and asked for the price match of 629.99! smile.gif

Yeah the price match thing is awesome. Just be sure to claim it within 2 weeks (maybe 1 month if you make a big deal at the counter).

This appears to be a permanent price drop for the S64 50". I went into the store and the price sign displayed the lower 629.99. Probably this is their way to fire sell the excess stock for the 50" variant; not that I'm complaining smile.gif I went to two Costcos in the past week and there was easily 6-8 of the 50S64 TVs in each store.

The 65" S64 was no where in sight and probably harder to come by outside of an online purchase at this point. Plus the fact that it continues to sit at $1299.99 is a pretty good indication that the remaining supply is low.

Costco has S64s now online with $1300 (65") and 630 (50"). $100 shipping. (Sorry, I'm allergic to 9999.99 formats tongue.gif )
If shipment were free and no tax, I wouldn't have hesitate.
Shipping for the 80" Vizio is $0.00... so, it's not impossible.

Shipping is currently free on costco.com and samsclub on 65s64. Go for it. 50" version still has a shipping charge.

The 50" still has $100 shipping.
Very tempting now...
The thing is, I already ordered a 60ST60 from Amazon with final price of about $1628 (4 year total warranty from Sq.T.). It's not yet delivered so I can still cancel.
The 65" S64 from Costco would cost me around $1475 (5 year total warranty: 1 Manu. + 1 Costco + 3 Sq.T.).
I am still debating if the features of ST60 are worth the extra $150 and a year less of warranty.
But as I mentioned above, Amazon charges no tax while Costco does... if it would have been with no shipping AND no tax (like Amazon), then the S64 is worth it for me. So, now that Costco got rid of the ridiculous shipping charge, I am waiting for a $100-off coupon or discount smile.gif
I still have 1 month to wait until Amazon delivers the ST60.

Are you going to be gaming? The ST60 apparently has some lag. What features make the ST worth it for you? Just curious as I'm looking hard at the S64.

Do you think there will be a 100 dollar coupon anytime soon? I hadn't heard of that too often on new models.

I'm still waiting for my Costco to get the S64 in.

I am not going to be playing games on it... at least not on a regular basis, so I don't care about the input lag.
The reason I am getting the ST60 is because - simply put - it's a better model. S64 belongs to the S60 family and it only comes in 65" and 50". The ideal size for me (for my TV stand I should say) is 60". A 65" might actually not fit my TV stand (AX3N1CGT Bayside Furnishings, bought from Costco store - not online). Also, the ST60 has - presumably - less reflections (extremely important aspect for me as I will be using it in a bright room), better black levels, more settings and more inputs. As for the "smart" content, I don't care too much about it but my wife convinced me to get one that has it, who knows, we might start using/liking it in the future when 3D becomes the new standard. Another good reason was the very good review that the ST60 got from CNet and Consumer Reports. The S64 was just an unknown model with only 5 user reviews on the Panasonic website and Costco website and a few more on this site. But, the main reason why I ultimately clicked the "Complete Order" on the ST60 was the price. At that time, the final price was the exact same as for the S64 (including warranties). I was outraged by the fact that buyng the S64 model from Costco would cost me $200 in shipping and tax and raise the out-of-pocket to the same amount as the ST60 from Amazon where it was $0 shipping and $0 tax. Sure, Costco reduced the shipping now, but is it still worth it? My wife said no smile.gif. We just got too used with the idea that we're getting an ST60 so we might not back down on it now.
I have no clue if Costco will ever give discounts on this TV. It was wishful thinking. Maybe for Black Friday, maybe next year before the FIFA 2014 World Cup, or before the Super Bowl or maybe soon after the next batch of ST60s comes out and they have too many S64s in stock or maybe never. For how long are you willing to wait?
If you're looking hard at the S64 you must have your reasons. I would guess one of them is that this is probably the cheapest brand-name, decent, 65" plasma with hassle-free return policy and solid warranty (speaking about Costco here). Better input lag? If you care about it, it might weight more for you. There are pluses and minuses on both of these TVs, put them all down and decide. In the end, it's only a TV.

Picked up the Panasonic P50S64 from Costco about three weeks ago and love it so far. It's my first plasma panel, replacing an old 32" Samsung LCD from 2007. Huge improvement. I went with the S64 as opposed to the S60 because it seemed to have all of the features of the S60, but it also had the Infinite black panel. One thing I'm not seeing though is the option to turn on or off Motion Smoothing. Is that option not available on this model?

As for input lag, I've not noticed any. I play a lot of Battlefield 3 online and doesn't seem to have issues.

The S60/S64 has no motion smoothing at all, so it's not applicable.

Quick question.

How big and cumbersome is the 50" s64 box? Would it fit okay in a ford escape????

It fit in the back seat of my midsize sedan. Just make sure it's secured standing up.
