Best buy is matching Samsung's web deal.

Pn60f8500 @ $2399 and they include a $200 gift card along with it. If your buying anything else there the net price is $2200. In my case I was Out the door with taxes and 2yr service plan at about $2600. The same as what I paid for a un60f8000 on bf without a service plan.

The 8000 was returned for what appears to be a fw glitch which caused loss of audio on 2 HDMI inputs. Worked fine when I arrived at the store, but samsung couldn't diagnose or fix it remotely. Maybe they should have had me unplug the TV instead of the cable box...

Do you mean the Plasma 8500 or the LED 8000?

Is that in Canada or USA? 2 months ago when the price was 3000$, I had bought for 2400$ with Store Manager approval at Futureshop Canada and then month later during boxing time they had this TV on sale for 2299$ online + 50$ for shipping. After new year I went back to futureshop and they have returned me 100$ without any hesitation. Also I have returned 4 years PSP for 621$ Cad with taxes which I felt was a quite alot and considering to buy 5 years warranty from Securranty for 299$.

Man, I just could not bring myself to spend this kind of money on that TV knowing not only that they were selling for 1500 bucks at Conn's (and granted not everyone has a Conn's near by but still), but also with the recent Samsung CES announcement about possibly cheaper stripped down versions of the F8500 for 2014. I don't normally say this, but this is probably a good time to HOLD if you want an F8500. There's too much uncertainty with Samsung's future plan right now and they have committed to making the 2013 series available through 2014 anyway.

Well that's always a choice to wait for unexpected number of months to see what happens. In the mean time I need a tv for my family to watch for and can't wait for that long. :)

Now that samsung has pushed the new models to mid-year it will probably also take longer for the UPP to be lifted.
