Halloween sale going on right now; this unit had been $699, but they are running a $100 off sale right now, so you can get them for $599. I never dealt with them before until now, but I am very impressed with not only the price on this projector, but the service...Rich (my salesman) and Todd (another salesman I spoke with briefly) are both SUPER nice, and were extremely helpful. Mine shipped today, and should be here the middle of next week. I am 100% pleased with this company.

Yes, I've seen this price. I'm tempted, but was wondering if I would see much difference from my HC1500.

So this would come with a 1 year warranty? I'm a little gunshy after an Acer DLP has started to die on me (DLP chip failing mirrors). Too bad the extended warranties are so expensive at PP, would like to have another 2 years added on but not for nearly half of the the PJs price.

Still, great price, thanks for the heads up.

Xavier1 -- yep, comes with 1 year warranty. I sure can understand being gun-shy, but on the other hand, part of the reason I went with Mitsubishi in the first place is that I understand (could be wrong) that they are pretty good on taking care of the customer, as compared to some companies.

auge-dog -- can't say for sure; I have no experience with the 1500, but I do know the contrast ratio is higher on the 3800, and obviously it's 1080 vs. 720...otherwise, not sure...

Thanks Steve.

The 1 year is definately nice, I thought it might be a mistake as some refurbs only have 90 days. Hmm....very tought to resist. Its the same price as my Acer H5360 (more or less) and yet its 1080p with much better lens, build quality, way better support.

Decisions decisions...

I hear you, Xavier1...decisions, decisions! Always tough to know when to "upgrade," and whether it will be money well spent relative to the degree of improvement in picture you get. For me, it was a no-brainer, as I am finishing up my theater, and don't have a projector yet. So, since I was not in the "upgrading an older projector" situation, but instead buying my first -- I was thrilled to find this deal (especially since my theater project went over-budget!)

Sweeet! I've got one on the way. Should be a significant upgrade over my 7 year old Sanyo Z3 LCD....

How does this PJ compare to the Viewsonic Pro8200? I was going to try and wait it out till' black friday for a good deal on VS Pro8200 but this PJ seems pretty decent as well especially for $599.
