Found epson 3010 on clearance with full warranty for 929 before taxes. Not a great deal but given that the refurb on visual apex for same price...may be a good deal. deal is store specific

DONT buy from Best Buy. I bought a new Epson 8350 from them and it was a dud. Problem was...I didn't open it until 40 days after buying it, so I had to exchange with Epson directly.

DO NOT BUY MILK FROM KROGER! I got some milk from there and it was bad...problem was I didn't open it until 40 days after I bought it.

Seriously?

Thanks for the heads up OP.

well well..
when I went to pick up the order after confirmation sent by best buy..
I was told that they did not have the projector...
they had called around other BB stores to see if they can locate one and honor the price...and eventhough their internal system said couple of stores had them..they did not have them physically.

Finally, they sold me their shelf model with 400 hours of bulb use, missing 2 3d glasses for $540...
glasses on amazon are 90 a peice so my price would be 720...for open box
do you all think i should buy their geek squad protection for 120 dollars?
Thanks

Wow $540, that was a steal for the 3010! (Also, although the glasses are a little small, I've found the PS3 glasses were the cheapest at the time I purchased some to go with my 3010 and they worked fairly well)

$120 is not much for some extra warranty for years 2-4 (assuming you're quoting price for 4yr warranty), plus they are supposed to cover a lamp replacement, but its up to whether you think you will be putting enough hours on it to burn a bulb in 2 yrs.

I probably will, given that we love watching movie and sports on big screen. I have 30 days to buy the protection,
I dont know how the other poster waited to open 40 days to open their projector..
I am going to be getting mine to work tonight...cant wait...

PS3 glasses- should they be from sony or nvidia, and do i need to change any settings for them to work? I saw there was an input for external emitter. Thanks for the tip, it seems ps3 glasses are much cheaper...

I'd suggest trying one first before buying more. The only thing I don't like about the PS3 ones is they seem a bit narrow (I am referring to the Sony PS3 glasses). There are several other compatible 3D glasses as well. Wow I hadn't realized the PS3 glasses went down to $24 on Amazon... and $20 from Best Buy (seems to only have store pickup option there though... )... I paid $40 1 1/2 yr ago. I like the sony's seemed to block more light on top but the plastic is shiny so picks up reflections if you have lights behind you, and the other Con is that they fit me very tightly and aren't too comfortable. At $20 I might pick up a few more and destroy/modify them to try to make them fit more comfortably.
