Hi everyone,
I found the Fifth Element at Wal-Mart the other day for $7.88, says this is Sony release... I seem to remember something about more than one edition of this movie on Blu-Ray; found some older threads but thought I would check again before I buy it; is this a good one for quality or should I avoid it?

It's the most accurate in some aspects, ie. color and brightness, but the Gaumont release (from france or UK..forgot) has less annoying grain/dirt/whatever it's called, at the expense of more vibrant unnatural colors and blooming, with just the slightest softening than the sony release. PICK YOUR POISON. Since this is one of my fav. sci-fi movies, I'll be checking out the Gaumont blu from overseas......
here is the thread with comparison pics....

Thanks for the link. I tried reading that thread twice but I fell asleep...
Thanks for the synopsis; I guess I'll just try it since it's cheap anyway.

I believe it's the rerelease, not the original subpar BD.
