20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is currently offering a 30% discount on the first order through their online store when you sign up for their newsletter.
The link for signing up can be found in the upper right corner, with a button that reads "Love Discounts? Join the Club" (it rotates its messages, but the button always drops down the signup form)
There are terms and conditions, and the discount applies to new E-Mail subscribers only, so be sure to review that information.
After submitting your E-Mail address, you should receive a message from FoxConnect.com welcoming you to their newsletter and a discount code to use for your first order. There is a time limit on how long the code is active, and as mentioned before, conditions apply, so read the E-Mail carefully. For example, the E-Mail I received on Jan 14th had a code that was valid until Feb 13th, so it's possible that it's a rolling 1-month window, or that the promotion only goes until Feb 13th. It also said that the discount applied to total purchase up to $100, excluding tax and shipping, as well as other conditions.
FoxConnect currently offers 11 movies on 4K UHD Blu-ray:
Exodus: Gods and Kings
Fantastic Four (2015)
Hitman: Agent 47
Life of Pi Triple Play
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials
Kingsman: The Secret Service
The Martian
The Maze Runner
The Peanuts Movie
Wild
X-Men: Days of Future Past
All movies, except for The Peanuts Movie, have a release date listed as March 1, 2016. The Peanuts Movie is listed as shipping on March 8, 2016.
I ordered two titles at $25.99 each. The 30% discount applied brought the total order to $36.39 with free shipping (and no tax applied). That lowered the per-title price to about $18.20 each.
Attached is a screenshot of the 4K UHD page with the offer drop-down shown.
Back when I pre-ordered that title, the info page on foxconnect was a mess. The details showed that a 3D version of the movie was included, and I received confirmation of that when I contacted Customer Service.
However, now the details for that title do not mention anything about 3D, and the cover artwork does not mention 3D either:

It is very unfortunate that Fox has chosen not to release this movie with an immersive soundtrack (Dolby Atmos or DTS:X). If it were not for the fact that I could get this for nearly the price of the Blu-ray, I would not pay extra for the UHD. It's worth $3 for the curiosity factor alone, but they're going to have to produce a better package in the future if they want to sustain and grow sales.
Thanks for pointing out the Foxconnect.com deal. Ordered The Martian, Life of Pi, and Exodus 4K blu-ray discs. I've been waiting to see all of them until the player came out. March 1 can't come soon enough!
Just an FYI, when I got the email about the promo, it said that the deal expires on February 9th or 10th. Not sure if the deal will renew after that or if a newer/lesser deal will become available. But basically, get orders in asap!
I noticed foxconnect has The Peanuts Movie listed for a UHD release but no mention of it on Amazon or BB, has anyone seen this film? Animated movies always look great so this could be a solid 4K release
Hey all, just a heads up, Fox is doing a sale on all their 4K movies and if you sign up for their email newsletter you get an extra 30% off your first order. It brings the price per disc down to around $18. Oh and free shipping.
Cheers just ordered Wild for $18.19, from the pictures I've seen posted I'm hopping not to be disappointed. Besides it's not a double dip like most of the others are. The only thing I'm very disappointed from the Fox releases is the lack of immersive audio.
I ordered a few more UHD BD titles from Amazon Canada.
I ordered San Andreas, Lego, Smurfs 2, and Pineapple Express.
Cost per title(including shipping) was under $24 US. Considering all these titles would cost me $31.80 here in the US after taxes. Close to an $8 savings is a good deal because of the exchange rate.
And the last order I got From Amazon Canada only took three days to arrive. I selected the cheapest shipping and figured it would take much longer. They shipped with DHL on March 2nd and it was delivered to me here in Northern VA on March 5th
I still can't believe that BestBuy is selling those for $30. WHen the retail price is something like $23. I'm glad I ordered it from BestBuy when they had them for $18.
I preordered the Revenant from Amazon a few weeks ago for $29.99. I saw that the price has dropped to $24.99. I contacted Amazon and got a refund for the difference.
Target didn't get many copies based on various website reports and what I saw in the Kansas City market. Largest Super Target got 4 copies. As of yesterday lunch time, only store outside metro KCMO was in Belton (small community) that had copies. Took ad over to BB to price match.
Hey RB, I just recieved Gravity Lux Edition. Sound with Atmos is unbelievable. My question, I paid 60 bucks at Amazon. Was that too much?
Thanks,
Carter
Several Ultra HD titles are on sale at Amazon currently. Hopefully, sale prices will become a periodic occurrence, as that is a good sign that the product line is more mainstream and less a niche product that doesn't warrant sale pricing.
Fry's promo code deals is offering Batman v Superman for $23.99:
Even at this price I can't justify the purchase, but I'm sure it'll make someone else happy. You have to be signed up for their email promo codes to get your unique promo code.
I had no problem whatsoever price matching Lucy 4K/UHD at my local Best Buy. They did have to call a manager to override their system, but besides that, in and out in 5 minutes. YSMV.
4K blu rays are showing 20% off for me at bestbuy.com.
