Newegg has a shell shocker on this MCE remote with built in IR blaster:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16880101007

Also, slickdeal has a coupon bringing it down to $9.95 I believe (I paid $18, didn't find the coupon till after). Just a heads up

Maybe order another one and cancel the first order. The discount is 45% or $8.10.

I tried and it said my email address isn't eligible. Not sure what that meant but I don't mind paying $18. Still a great deal, and I'm sure I'll love it. WAF just went up!

Call them or hit them up with a chat window and tell them that you had the code but forgot to enter it when making the purchase but didn't realize until later on today and ask if they'll apply it retroactivelly.

You have to create an account and sign up for their e-mail offers before the promo code will work.

Are you guys using the IR blaster with your remote? Mine wont recognize my cable box remote at all nor my DTA remote. My DVR(SA 8300HDC) is pretty common and should be recognized instantly.

From what I've read, isn't the IR blaster just for RF?

Nope, It's to control your cable/sat box with your Windows remote though your computer.

Well, I received my remote today and set my Harmony 650 to Microsoft Windows Media Center SE and it works like a charm. I have no need for the Rosewill remote that came with it for the time being. I'm looking forward to setting up my HTPC to come out of sleep when I queue Computer on the Harmony remote.

I'm just getting my power settings right, I did some reading before I purchased the MCE remote and read about setting windows to ignore the sleep button if windows is already running but to power up if windows is in sleep mode.

Looks like I got it sorted out. I've assumed the sleep button is the same as the Power On button the logitech has programmed, but I kept it as a separate sleep button. So when toggle Computer of All Off, it seems to respond best with 0.5 sec press time. I have to say the Rosewill was well worth it even though I'm only using the receiver. I expect that the Rosewill remote could be programmed more easily to execute shortcut keys programmed to the press of a button. I don't know if the Harmony can do that. But for now I think I have a working set up. smile.gif

If the Rosewill does do that you can program the Rosewill and then use it to teach the Harmony.

I tried the Rosewill RHRC-11001 and it cannot be programmed. But the IR receiver can be programmed.

http://www.rosewill.com/products/1940/ProductDetail_Overview.htm
"Be able to use learning IR receiver to learn the signal from the remote control of set-top box ".

I emailed Rosewill & they confirmed this & that there was no way to program the remote itself.
