****EDIT - PRICE IS NOW $249.98, AS OF 5/5/2013****

This is a great price on one of the best Blu-ray players out there. This is a "Universal-Disc" player, so it plays DVD-Audio & SACD in addition to the obvious ones. No brainer...

This is for brand-new, non-refurbished. Price is only good in store. The web site link below will list the full price. Rest assured it is $199.98 in-store.

Best Buy link:

Pioneer link:

Confirmed at my local best buy. Said the sale was good through the 12th (Friday). Didn't get one, but it's a good deal.

Confirmed as well. I went to my local BB to pick up a 52FD open box for $80 (found in on the site). They didn't have the open box unit, but I asked and they had 7 of the 62FDs for $200. I decided not to buy it. -- but it is a good deal.

Hey babe ... at least I am not into motorcycles or boats ... that's real money.

Good to hear. Though you must have had your 51FD for a while. Those were a pretty solid piece of hardware.

Age 4-5 yrs maybe......... I played a couple hundred through it probably. I am not sure its completely dead I'm trying to decide whether to get it fixed.

Yeah took about five minutes to set up the 62FD much faster and much quieter. I was happy with the 51FD like anything else you think they should last longer. biggrin.gif I guess they only have so many movies in them, By the time they act up its probably time to upgrade anyway.

I've had my Samsung BDP-3600 for like 3 years now with NO issues. I dust it off weekly and leave it in an open area for airflow. It's a champ.

Wow, I wish I had caught this. I got my Elite DV-45A for a great price ages ago but I'd love to replace it with another universal player and actually have Bluray support.

This is still going on. If your local store is out, they should be getting more inventory in soon. Also, you should be able to order it before they get more in so that you can have one set aside for you. You would have to pay up front though, should you choose to do that.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely check it out. I guess I just assumed it was over since the website didn't show the deal.

Just picked one up last night so the deal is still good. Its a November 2012 build that had FW 2.07 now upgraded to 2.09. I wonder what is driving such a great unadvertised sale? Maybe Pio is releasing a new model soon?

Quick Reference of Forum Rules
1) Do Not post pricing you found on-line or at a local dealer UNLESS IN A DEALS THREAD.
2) Do Not ask for, or offer, a receipt so people can price match.
3) Do Not say to "Call John Smith at ..." (you know what I mean)
4) Do Not put down someone else's choice in...

My location shows that they are unavailable. How can I still get this pioneer player,, it doesn't
give me the option to pay and pick up later.

They are still available. Go to BBM in person and order if they do not have it in stock. It will then be shipped to that particular store. Thats what the magnolia employee told me. When they pull it up in their computer system, it still shows the 199 price.

I'm enjoying my BDP-62FD. What I don't understand is why the steep discounting at BBM with this particular model? Did Pioneer build too many and they made a deal with BB to move inventory quickly? Is Pioneer exiting the Blu-ray player market? Is the new replacement model about to be announced? Or is this type of discounting normal in the United States?

I can tell you that it will rarely, very rarely IF EVER! be discounted in Canada like the 199 deal at BB (U.S.A.).

Thanks

I was able to order it from my local BB (not magnolia store). I explained to the gentlemen that these units were being sold at the magnolia stores for $199. He offered me a reduced price of $249 as he checked the inventory from a magnolia store 3 hrs away...but once I showed him this thread via my iPhone.. He agreed to do the $199 price.

The current price in all stores in now $249.98. Every once in a while a tag gets left up after a price increase, so some people may run into this but the price in POS and all systems is now $249.98.

Yesterday they were still listed in the system at $199 so it must have changed just overnight. My guess is they'll go down below that level in the future but you will have to hunt one down

Yes, only in the store and now at $249.98. Also, there was an issue with the price not showing correctly in-store last week. Should be fixed now.

$199.98 in Atlanta - Kennesaw store. but you have to ask. when I showed up, the sales person said $399 until I said no, there's a sale price, which I had confirmed by phoning 1st.
