Deliver the the 212's immediately. Don't wait until after the GTG. This will help several ways:

1. No comparisons in your room and 2nd guessing
2. Anticipation
3. The 215RT will sound incredibly superior
4. Anticipation
5. Spend time with family
6. Anticipation

I would actually welcome a h2h, i think it would shine some light on the upper range difference between the two, as well as carps perfectly integrated subs vs. a full range tower with no subs for comparison.... Cool cool.gif

I hear you DD, but I'm not a buyers remorse kind of guy so I'm not worried about #1. If the anticipation was any stronger I'd need professional help. The family is all asleep on weeknights by 9:30 and I'm down here cranking away until 2:00 or later so no family time lost.

Brandon, I don't know how perfectly integrated the subs are... haha, but it hasn't been for a lack of trying/tweaking that's for sure! smile.gif

I won't actually compare them at the same time though, we are going to take the 212's to Grants the night before we leave for the gtg.

I have been without my 212's for two weeks now. Hopefully I will have the new speakers within the next two weeks, but not sure yet.

Good thing my job has been keeping me SUPER busy..

Man, if I could crank away until 2:00 and get away with it, it would be incredibly detrimental to my sleep schedule. I played pretty hard last night watching fun movie clips and such until around 11:00 and I was pretty much tapped out, but the wife mentioned after I watched the pulse scene from Panic Room that she really thought the house was going to fall down.

Only during the summer, during the school year I'm out by 9:00-9:30. What makes no sense is that if I sleep from 9 until 5:30 I'm dead tired but in the summer sleeping from 2:00 until 8:00 or 3:00 until 9:00 feels just fine.

8-8.5 hours of sleep compared to 6 hours of sleep and the 6 hours feels way better. confused.gif

Cranking is a strong term, I'm usually listening to music at normal volumes with the occasional volume boost. It's nice to know that I don't really have a volume limit though.

Well, the 212's and the 215's will be compared at David's GTG (you should go by the way!!) but I don't think it will be a fair fight since the 212's will be in a baffle wall with mbm's and S2's integrated by DD. It will be interesting for sure.

That first one should do well to help preserve your sanity. Nothing would bug me more than to spend thousands for an "upgrade" only to A/B them to find... ....

Sounds cool!

Besides taking SIBR out of the mix, the 215's should still have the advantage over (or at least hang with) the 212HT/Dual S2 combo (from an output perspective) above 20hz, correct?

A nearfield MBM may sway things in favor of one setup over another though. Anyway you guys could implement the MBM in both setups...Just for the hell of it?

Is there a thread somewhere on said GTG?

Thanks guys. I sometimes think about taking the velvet off my 2 stacks of subs but it just looks so insane to the "normal" folks that come over. Scott, how do non hobby people react when they see your setup?

Ha, I can relate I was recently told by a few friends that I keep the volume to loud during sporting events when people are over. I could tell no one wanted to say anything it was like an intervention, haha.

I recently got this same intervention, however the source of the intervention I absolute took zero stock in their opinion, so I plan on just going on "Business as usual"

Nope, but I know exactly what kind of A-T screen you need now that you are nearing that decision
