FS: Crown X4000 (Silver XLi3500) Ampliers (2) - 1000W/1350W/2700W 8Ω/4Ω/8Ω bridged

Asking $400 shipped for one or best offers for both. (Paypal)

These are simply a silver version of the XLi3500 that was sold exclusively by Guitar0a Center/Musician's Friend.

These have been in storage for the last year. I had no problems running a rack of these Crowns on a dedicated 15A circuit. In stereo I ran the volume high enough to tickle the clip indicators. These utilize huge 3kW toroidal transformers with 24A main fuse! They also have 6 80V 10,000µF capacitors. Crown indicates 20A circuit is only needed for 4Ω or bridged operation.

I have replaced these Crowns with H/K Citation 7.1s and 5.1s. I am local to the original designer and manufacturer of the Citations, Stephen Mantz (Zed Audio). These 4 channel bridgeable amps give me more flexibility than the Crowns. Otherwise, I would not be selling (I have already sold the 3 X2000s & X3000 I was running). As good as the Crowns sound I feel the Citations sound even better. Prior to the Crowns I was using upgraded Carver M.1.0t mkIIs and vintage NAD 2200PEs. The Crowns were a significant upgrade.

One of the X4000s was purchased used from Guitar Center at the end of 2015 (warranty expired 11/1/2015). There is some slight wear on the rack ears. The 2nd X4000 was purchased from a seller here on AVS who works overseas. He bought it from Musician's Friend and it sat in the box in a closet for most of its life (as he tells it). He did replace the fans as the X4000/XLi3500 fans are not as quiet as the stock X3000/XLi and below. I recommend doing your own fan mod as there are better options for replacement fans available.

I removed the fan shrouds to reduce air turbulence (noise) & provide better cooling of transformer. I added Geckodots added between fans and chassis to reduce fan vibration noise. 14/3 15A power cables are included.

I also have 3 very nice top-line Hosa Edge XLR cables. 5', 20AWG w/gold plated Neutrik XX series XLR connectors. $25/each (Monoprice XLRs are not 16AWG as advertised, nor is the build quality comparable).

Pictures added. These are great Class A/B amps. You won't find more class B power for the $$.

I compared the Crown vs a INuke 3000DSP running full range (Mirage OMD-28s). No contest, the Crown is a much better "speaker" amplifier.
