For Sale is a pair of Bill Fitzmaurice (BFM) DR 200's. If you are not familiar with these speakers here is a link to the description on the BFM webpage.
These speakers were custom built by authorized BFM builder Scott Brochu and feature curved fronts and custom inlayed "DR 200" on the side panels. They come with the Eminence Delta 8a woofer and a 16 piezo melded array. They are finished in Duratex and have recessed spring loaded handles on each side.
These would make great L/R speakers for someone's Home Theater and they also work amazing for PA tops. They do not dig very deep so you will definitely need some subwoofers. I currently have another pair cross at 95hz to 4 of the T39's and that system rocks. It will do over 110db without flinching.
I need to offload these quick so any reasonable offers will be considered. I'm asking $400 for the pair. I prefer local pickup but will ship at buyers expense. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Are these my babies! I might want to buy them back. I don't have the EQ anymore I used but I am dying to hear them again but now I am using my subs to 200 hz in a battle wall. I sold my DR-250s because they don't fit anymore but I wonder how Audyssey XT32 would EQ them? Can you measure the ones you have with an auto room correction by any chance?
Hey, yes this is 2 of them. The other 2 are still being used at my gym, but we only need the 2 so I've decided to sell these.
Unfortunately I don't have any way to measure them right now because we are packing up the house for a cross country move right now, hence the reason I'm trying to sell them.
If it helps, I have them crossed over at 95hz to 4-T39's and they measure pretty flat. I would think they'd have no trouble at all if they only had to go down to 200hz. The problem area for these is in the upper end anyway IMO. The graphs that are on Bill's website are pretty accurate, but I don't think it's anything that Audyssey coudn't easily handle. I might be able to take some REW measurements of the gym setup, but no guarantee's, plus it's a metal completely untreated building with less than optimal speaker positioning so the measurements wouldn't mean a whole lot anyway...
Yeah don't bother measuring. I think they went to about 16-17khz in my room when I had them. I miss the dynamics the DRs provide. i can't remember but do they come with the pole cup on bottom and can you measure the width, I have to make sure they will fit. The 250s are much too big now.
I still have two DR-250s and wedge 10s lying around because they won't fit. I wanted to try the DR-200s with compression drivers too. For some reason I thought they would fit as I thought they were smaller.
I have four BFM Wedgehorn 6's that were also built by Scott Brochu. He does excellent work. @MKtheater, you could buy all of these and bring the "family" back home.
Only the wedge 6s would fit. What I really want to try is a compression driver version. When I had the DR-200s those little 8s really played loud and clean being horn loaded and I crossover higher now to my subs for even more mid bass. I really thought the 200s would fit but they won't.
