FS: PRICE UPDATE Two (2) Danley SH50 synergy horns and single SH69 for center

If you are looking at this ad, there should be no more information needed. Both have spent their time in a dedicated HT, smoke and kid-free home. Units are in excellent condition with grills intact and no visible blemishes that I can find. I will entertain shipping as I do have the original boxes. You'd be amazed at how peckish they are with the packaging material on these bad boys, but hey, they made it from KC to my house just fine when I purchased them a few years back.

The synergy horn design still presents the best soundstage and image of any other speaker I have ever heard. They are truly remarkable at resolution at the lowest all the way to the highest volume you could possibly stand in a domestic environment. An absolutely breathtaking sound.

For shipping reference, it was between $400-$500 to get them from KC to NC via R+L Carriers. I am asking $6500 for the trio not counting the shipping. I will sell the pair of SH50's separately ONLY if I manage to sell the SH69 FIRST.

Going the JBL route for a bit. Very well may come right back to Danley, but next time around I want a bare cabinet that I can veneer myself.

$7200 is too good for these. I might buy them from you so when you come back to these bad boys in a few weeks I'll have them for you at the ridiculously low price of $8200

Seriously, if I had the space I'd take them. It's not just that the price is like getting a free speaker, but I know how well built these speakers are. We have joked about the shipping box in the past, but any other speakers would end up a pile of splinters and drivers if you put them into the box the 50's are shipped in. That's no *****.

Without a doubt. They can likely survive a 10 ft. drop they are built so well, and the finish on them is about as durable as you will find. When I toured QMS (Danley's build house here in town), there were a couple new enclosures getting sprayed and I watched them get a generous coat of the 'tex. It was pretty neat to watch actually. All the residual that was stuck to the walls of the spray bays was kinda funny looking too

Oh, I thought you had attended one of the GTG's. It's a bit far for me, but more in striking distance from your place.

Those were the Sm60f's that I had up at austin's. I sold those to upgrade to the flagship sh50 which is for sale here Very similar, although the sh50 just does everything better than its smaller brethren.

Well, you are a beast, sir...I would expect nothing less. Wish I could take these off your hands...would love to try the Danleys in my room...but decided to help my aunt out with her roof replacement and forego toys this year...will have to try to swing some stocks and see if my luck pans out.

Sheldon and you are both crazy. You both found a speaker you absolutely adore --- and then sell it for something you haven't yet heard in your home theater space?

Forgot you had the SM60F's. I loved those speakers. More than the JTR 212's in the end. But I agree that when I put the SH50's in my room the difference was clear between the big brother and the little brother. The 50's are a step up for sure and I can understand why they remain Tom Danleys favorite.

I have no idea why, but I liked the SM60F's over the SH50's and that does not makes sense. I mean on paper the SH50 should sound better to me. I still have to say that Demo of the SM60F's was still the best speaker demo I have heard yet.

Have to say I am shocked, but not surprised by the sale. I mean we have to mix it up, keeps the hobby fun. I have had thoughts about selling my 215RT's and trying a couple of other things or even down sizing a bit, but I am afraid if I sell the 215RT's I will not be able to replace them. But I have the Salks to fool with for now. GLWTS, should be an easy sale.

Thanks Reef, I hope so.

I have one potential buyer interested in the the 50's by themselves so my question is, would anyone be interested in JUST the solo sh69?

Just curious, did you hear them together in the same room or at different times? I was lucky to have both in my room to compare and definitely thought the SH50 was a better speaker. But it could be that you simply prefer the SM60F, I wouldn't be terribly surprised by that. It's a great speaker.

I am halfway inclined to price them all equally at $2400 but breaking them up, I don't know, I think $2500 would be fair for it single? Shipping would obviously be much less for a single. You guys tell me if you think I am off-base here, but the retail prices of the sh50 and sh69 are very close, so I think this is still a good way of doing it.

Can you tell me how big the packaging would be and how heavy it is?

If the other person mentioned buys the SH50's and your SH69 isnt sold in a few weeks I might just buy it. Was going to need a center channel also and depending how much the shipping kills me I think I can afford it. So let me know.

The dimensions on the cabinet are 34x21x17, so maybe an inch more in each direction, as the shipping boxes literally have corner pads and the box slides right over from there. Shipping weight would be probably 125 pounds. I am sure the other buyer is watching this thread but I will reach out to him as well!

Happy Turkey day guys!!!!
