12 TB complete 3U media server package

Hey all!

I built a server two years ago for my decently large movie collection (~500). It's a proper Linux (Debian) machine currently running a raid6 array (hardware raid), with 8 drives installed and 8 more bays available. Plus there are two OS drive bays in the rear. It is a wonderful machine and performed flawlessly, but unfortunately I moved from my house in Salt Lake City to a very small apartment in Boston and this simply could not come with.

I would like to get about $1000 for this, not including shipping (shipping specs below).

Designed to run headless with on your preferred Linux OS install, this machine actually will comes with basic peripherals (keyboard & monitor if needed), redundant PSUs, but will be wiped clean for obvious reasons. I used this with a couple different front ends, and it currently has a PLEX server installed. I suppose I could be talked into leaving the movie collection and current config installed, but I would definitely not offer any support for your usage. Could be a small bonus though if someone wants the hardware and a good movie collection with many full HD rips on it. Honestly, it really sucks to sell this because it was a solid workhorse with over a year uptime. I built it to be fast enough to serve full BD rips at native audio&video bitrates, and it not once did it falter. So, this machine will handle whatever you can throw at it, and has enough space to serve as a backup machine as well. Not to mention you could easily build a second array since there are 8 more bays available, and another slot available for a second raid car, or you could use software raid.

The machine is located in Salt Lake City, but I am willing to ship at the buyers expense. It weights 65lbs appx. with the drives installed, and would come in a 36"L x 24"W x 9"-12"H box, in case you want to use a shipping estimator online.

Please do not hesitate to ask me questions. Lots of good pics available!

Bump for 25% price reduction! Im surprised no one on here wants a turn-key package to store literally thousands of movies.
