I"m new at setting up a projector system and need some assistance. I have a Zenith 895x projector. I"m setting up a system and I cant decide which screen (fixed) to get.

I know I'm not got AT because of light loss. and since I wont change screens I know I"m not going to want to use a cheap screen. I"m willing to pay for a really good screen since this is the first thing people will notice when they enter the room.

I have pretty much narrowed it down to stewart or da-Lite. if they can even be compared. I have seen the Stewart and it looks great and the Da-lite looked ok; however, I"m not sure which models I was looking at. Draper only has 1 or 2 and I wasnt impressed.

Second, the gain charts that I see, those are the gain levels at different angles of viewing, right?

Where is a reallhy good place to read up on this stuff?

we'll need more info on your setup to make a good recommendation.

The Zenith sounds like a CRT, do you know if it is 7,8, or 9"?

Do you know what size of screen (approx.) you are looking for?

Guys,

I basically have the same question. Got an Infouc LP530 DLP with 2000Lumen (or 1600 in Eco Mode which I use most of the time since this is less noisy). Projecting currently on a white wall (appr. 100Inch diagonal in Cideo Mode). Mainly watch TV and DVDs (appr. 50/50). I also have quite some ambient light furing the day since this is in my living room.

I wonder why a less gain screen (like the GaryHawk is better for ambient light if it reduces the light reflected from the Projector - at least the Stewart site says that) or is this based on the fact that it also reflects less ambient light? One would think that a screen would mainly reflect light projected directly on it and not from the side.

Da-Lite seems cheaper? Even though Money is - thank god - not my primary concern. Any recommendation and input welcome.

Stewart if imaging quality is paramount.

DaLite if cost is the most important deciding factor for you.
