Thanks to a fellow forum member who made the suggestion of making removable masking for roll up screens. I bought a piece of foam insulation board at Home Depot for $4.00 and 3 yards of black felt at Hancock. Cut to the proper length and width, contact cement the felt to the foam board and then used black velcro to attach it to the black border of the screen......Takes 30 minutes to build and 30 seconds to install and LOOKS GREAT.

Thanks again !!!

Excellent Idea!

I was just thinking of Velcroing Felt Material underneath my screen.. This is a step up from my thoughts!

Thanks for the hints!

I got a digital camera but I've never posted pics on the internet before. I'll try to take some if I can figure out how to do it ...

DRE,

Do you think this solution would work with an electric tab tensioned screen? Does the velcro attached to the screen roll up uniformly and not create a problem when the screen is retracted?

Thanks,

CGM

Each one of my 4 pieces (easier to store) weights exactly 8oz with felt & staples.

Shouldn't be a problem with your tab tensioned screen. The velcro that I used is very thin and hasn't caused any rollup problems in the month & a half since I've applied it. Have probably opened & closed the screen 30 times in that timeframe.
