I've read quite a bit and I am very conversant with aspect ratios, but in practical terms, what size screen should I make.
I will be using a NEC LT150 ceiling mounted with a viewing distance of about 12 feet, exactly. Taking into account the aesthetics of not being too close v. the largest picture size I can get at that distance, what is the optimum dimensions for the screen?. I will watch letterbox and widescreen DVDs, older VHS stuff, and will eventually have a HTPC nearby at my video production workstation.
My width is also further restricted to about 96 inches (between two wall switches). I guess what I'm most confused about is how the LT150 projects a 4:3 image on a 96" W screen at a distance of 12 feet. OK, so given all that information:
How high should I make the screen?
Thanks to you good people out there.
