I havn't been able to find anything on Stewarts site other than the Videomatte 200 1.8 gain screen.... which isn't really high enough for the Torus.

M2500 should be good enough ?

Hi Snaggs,

I'm not familiar with the Torus, but I own a tab tensioned M2500. I am having to live with optical problems with the screen fabric.
These are two fold. The first is vertical streaking. These are streaks that show up on pans across snow scapes, sky views and the like. Sports events especially football and soccer, are badly effected usually bacause of pans across a green football field. The second is a texturing problem that can make the image look slightly dirty. If you seach the forum you should find that a number of us have had such screen issues with the M2500 material. If I did not have these problems, I would be very pleased with the image. The gain is probably between 2 and 2.3 when you sit at the centre of the image. If you decide to go with this product, make sure your dealer knows that you are aware of the streaking issue and will refund or exchange if need be. Good luck,

Regards,

Paul H

Hmmmm... Ill be ordering this from the US..... the dealers near me don't sell anything other than no-name brand matt, unless you special order Stewart at an expensive price.

I thought they had fixed the streaking problem ? (from old threads I read). It seems to be the only high-gain option, as the Da-Lite 2.5 is retro-reflective.

Have you compared the Stewart Videomatte 200 to your M2500 ?

Most screen makers (ie Stewart) make many products not on their web site. Some were designed with torus in mind. You just have to ask.

I'm going with Stewart Platinum.

Thanks,

Jeff

Finally went digital: RS20, ISCO IIIs, DIY 10.5' wide torus screen, Stewart StudioTek 1.3 G3 with 4 way masking and adjustable image size

Yes, I was thinking of Stewart Platinum myself.. but there has been no discussion on it, or information. However, XtremeDTV who sells Torus screens says that Silver screens work well on their webpage.

You don't want the Stewart silver...too finicky. Go with platinum for 2.3-3.0 gain.

Ask Alan Gouger, he's had both.

Thanks,

Jeff

Email Alan at AVS for prices, but my list price (before discount( for a 2.5 gain Platinum screen custom cut at 109x61" was $1000.

Pricey, but Don's help and advice was well worth it.

Thanks,

Jeff
