Hi

I'm actually using a white painted wall with my BarcoData 701 (+ Cinematrix scaler) and now I plan to buy a Da-Lite Imager (HDTV) screen with a Cinema Vision surface.

What's the max size of the screen i could afford with that projector ??? 92" , 104" or 116" without losing image quality ???

Best Regards

Teo

what gain is the surface, how hard are you planning on dring the PJ, are you talking width or diagonal and 4:3 or 16:9?

Max screen size should be easy enough to calculate from the lumen output and gain of the screen in relation to the sq footage of the screen.

The surface gain is 1.3
I'm talking of width ... 92" , 104" or 116" and a 16/9 format.
For the lumen .. i will answer tomorrow, but it has to be something like 150 or 160 lumen.

Ok lets say 150 to be safe.

150 *1.3 = 195 = about 200

Let's say you want to keep the ft/l above 10 for viewing.

92" screen is 32 sq ft and 200/32 = 6.25 not enough. To figure out what gain you need for proper light output of 10ft lm 10/(150/32) = 2.13,

A 92" 1.3 screen with only be providing 6.25ft lm's of light that is not consitered enough for a clean image even in pitch black.

You either need to go up to a 2.0+ gain surface for a 92" and higher for larger or go down to a 72" width screen with that 1.3 gain surface.
