I'm basically a noob here and starting my own home theater in my basement and I was recommended I should get an AT screen and I explained everything in my thread about it so it'd be great if you guys could guide me in the right direction.

There are two common types of Acoustically Transparent (AT) screens: perforated and woven.

Stewart is the perforated style I see used most often; they aren't cheap.

Woven, there are two companies that are used most often - SMX and Seymour A/V. SMX used to sell the material separately, but not anymore; Seymour still sells the material separately. A premade screen from either will run somewhere in the range of $1000-$2000. I wanted something cheaper, so I bought a frame from Jamestown Home Theaters, and the Seymour DIY AT material, and was able to come away with a big AT screen for several hundred less than I could have otherwise. Others build their own frames and add the AT material.

You forgot Screen Excellence ............their En4k material is the best I've tested. SeymourAV is the distributor for dealer networks.............

I use the Screen Research Clearpix2 in Grey.

Easily the best screen there is. Be prepared for "checkbook shudder".

Right you are, for completeness I should have included that - based on the OP's linked build thread however, I surmised that might be a budget buster. I could be wrong though.

Yeah definitely, I don't want to kill myself on the checkbooks for sure. I mean some of those screens are option but looks like the best option might be to create my own, now is there a good tutorial on the forums that can guide me through the building process with the screen?
