I'm looking for some suggestions on a ceiling mounted, motorized, tab tensionsed large screen.

Prefer 16:9, something 12-15+" feet across (not diagonal).

I've seen the ones on monoprice but feel that the 150 inch is a little small. I would like something even bigger but cost efficient.

Any suggestions and places to buy?

Thanks!

Will your projector actually light something that large correctly? Typically you need to spend upwards of $10,000+ for a HT projector with enough light to Illuminate a screen of that size correctly, even if you bought a high gain screen. So I would have to assuming this is for a business application, not HT.

Most large rooms in conference centers I have been in have Dalite screen, but I must say, I did some some wrinkles in the lower corners of the screens and they were tab tensioned..maybe just need to be adjusted..

Good point. This is for ht. I was planning to spend less then 3k on a 3d capable projector for the screen. I think I'll go with the 150 inch from monoprice.

Any projector suggestions? Prefer LCD as dlp sometimes give me rainbow effect.

There isn't an under 10k projector (that I know of) that can light up a 150" 1.0 gain screen in 3D.

You need to stop and do some research.. this is not like buying a TV.. And by research I really mean reading.. there is way to many variables to answer open ended questions like these..

i have been reading, but the issue is that there is way too much information that doesnt answer a specific question.

For example, some people like 20 or some like 40. There is no way for me to easily know which projectors are ok for a screen of this size.

By me asking questions, it allows those with knowledge to give some advice. Why reinvent the wheel?

If others ask a question, and I have been down a similar path, then i can chime in.

I ask a question, projector and screen.

If someone has something similar, they can say, " i;m using X and X"

The Epson 5010 will give you around 7 or 8 Foot Lamberts with a new lamp on a 150" diagonal (1.78) 1.0 gain screen and this is if you mount it at it's shortest throw. Like I said 3D and large 1.0 gain screens do not work at this price point.

Thanks AV science, i will read up on lamberts to see what a good number of lamberts should be.

I will also look into a 1.5 gain screen as well.

What projectors are there that can put out more light? I may need to wait another year for some of those higher end units to come down in price.

I've seen da-lite and Elite. Any others?
