I am starting this thread for all who have or considering purchase the New Reflections 170 screen from Stewart. I currently have the 120" with microperf installed. Throw is 14.5 feet and viewing is 14 feet. I am using JVC RS55 for PJ. It is ceiling mounted. Please post any feedback and pics.

I haveceiling mounted the RS55 PJ. Should it be ceiling mount with this 1.7 gain angular reflective screen and if so then should it be just above this type of screen or in center of screen. I am currently seeing either grain or the microperf sitting at 14 feet and PJ lens is 4 inches below top of screen. Any help greatly appeciated.

Do you notice any sheen or sparklies on the Stewart 170 ?
I currently game a 120" Vutec Sivlerstar with my RS35 and am NOT bothered by the sheen/sparklies of the Silverstar.
I have seen the Da-Lite HiPower on several occasions too and am not bothered by it either.
But curious if the Stewart 170 exhibits a sheen/sparklies anyway.

JVC used the Stewart 170 screen at CES to show off the X90.
Demo clip was a snowboarding film "Art of Flight"
Screen was 150" diag 16:9. I think it looked awesome !

I am thinking of jumping to RS55/X70.
Screen will either be 136" x 58", or 126" x 54"
Trying to decide between the Stewart 170 or Da-Lite Highpower.

Andy,
I do not see any sparkles but I may be seeing either grain or the microperf. Should I have the RS55 mounted above this screen or in center of this screen? Does it make a diff on grain? I am going to try different mounting heights this weekend and will let you know what I find. I may just be seeing microperf since I am sitting at 14 feet. Stewart says in light controlled rooms you should not see the microperf past 12 feet. Maybe I am just too picky or maybe this is some grain from the 1.7 gain screen. Its an angular reflective screen, so you are suppose to mount the PJ higher on ceiling I thought. I will make some adjustments this weekend and post back if there was any difference. If anybody else has this screen, please let me know what is the best outcome.

First we need to determine if what you are seeing is from the screen or the source. Place a piece of white paper on the screen and see if you still see the grain.

Hi all..
I consider to buy 144" x 61" reflection 170 pair with jvc rs 45 or cineversum blackwing one which has 1300 lumens.
is it too big screen to ligth by 1300 lumen projector? is has enough power to use lens memory for 144" wide?
thanks all..
