Hi:

I am building a new home construction home theater...

Which do I pick out first - the screen I want or the projector?

It seems as though they go hand and hand, I am just not sure which is supposed to come first...

Thanks!

This is a more complicated question. Room factors also play a role on what screen would work best for your situation. As long as the projector/ screen combo will be bright enough pick the screen more on room conditions.

Right. Get the screen size you want, AT or not depending on speakers. Then pick a projector with enough light output to fill it, enough lens zoom and offset for placement, and maybe auto lens shift if you went with a 2.35:1 screen.

Just be sure to look at projector prices for what would be needed to light up that size screen. Don't want someone running out and buying a 13' wide screen and wanting 3D and then finding out that they don't have enough budget to light it up. Screen, projector and room all have to work together to have a great system.
