I have a 1080 projector (Epson 8350) and am setting up our new home theater. I am envisioning a window shade that functions as a projector screen. The picture window is very close to being a 120" 16:9 form factor. Got any tips or solutions for me?
In our new house, we have a large picture window that will also be where the screen for the home projector. The idea is to have a pull-down screen/shade that fits in the window opening that can dual-function as a window shade and a projector screen. Do you have a solution that will work for me? The window box is 105.5x57.5", and the inner glass pane is 99.5x51". Do you have a solution that will fit in the window box, as close to the size of the window box as possible? We are planning to have some fabric drapes with a valence around the outside to be able to hide/frame it all.
Here is a rough diagram to help get the idea, though not to scale:
I am hoping to be in the 1.0-1.3 gain range, though I am not too picky. There are some budget blinds you can get at any custom size (~140$ for this window). Are these going to be a bad idea? I am willing to pay up to ~400$ for a screen if it is worth it!
There are vinyl and fabric options available here for example:
