What kind of dollars am I looking at for something in the 142-152" diagonal 2.35 acoustically transparent curved screen, and then also getting a motorized masking system.

I'm currently on a 16:9 Carada, but I'm trying to figure out my options for my new home theater build.

Is there a Carada of acoustical screens? A good bang for the buck curved screen? What about a masking system?

Thanks

Ok, no joy, so I'll modify the question and hopefully get some feedback.

I'm currently thinking I will go with a 120" wide (~130' diagonal) 2.35 CIH screen.

I want to go acoustically transparent and have a motorized masking system.

Does anyone have a feel for pricing (ballpark is fine) for the various players: Dalite, Stewart, SMX and others?

Also, any add on acoustically transparent motorized masking systems, or do I need to get one from the vendor I get the screen from?

To give a ball park MSRP would be at ~ $20K +/- $5k depending on brand and options.

...or you could build your own using Seymour AV's Centerstage XD Material and Aussiebob's curvature spreadsheet. I built mine (same size as you're looking to make) for less than $500. That's without masking, though, unfortunately. You did ask for a good bang for your buck option. wink.gif
FWIW, I have seen others rig up a DIY motorized masking system as well.

Yeah motorized masking is where prices get really crazy. I thought 7k for a Stewart Microperf screen was bad... But motorized masking prices are just insane. I obviously don't get what makes them cost so much.
