I heard from Chris and Jon today from Seymour, talk about responsive! I wasn't clear before but now understand the radiant white and glacier white are two different materials, and corresponding frames, one from Screen Excellence and one from Seymour. They are sending both samples for a look. Impressive folks at Seymour.
I will say I don't think the Carada BW looks yellow at all. I have it against a Wilsonart DW screen and it looks as white or more white to me. True white is really hard to tell by itself but easier to compare against "other whites". I'm viewing the BW against the Wilsonart Designer White and the BW seems just a tad less bright than the Wilsonart but the blacks are definitely better with the Carada BW So the gain numbers for the BW and the Wilsonart seem spot on to me. To add to to the mix I got a sample of SI's Solar HD or Solar 4K material. It however does not look white but rather a whitish, bluish gray, it's not as bright as either the Wilsonart or the Carada BW. I'm not completely convinced SI sent me the right sample but I had a really bad experience with their sales team and I can't give them my business. It's a shame as I think they have some good materials but you have to provide a basic level of service.
So I'm waiting for the Seymour samples to compare to the Carada. I am really liking the idea of the magnet masking with the premier frame. I would be using 16;9 and mask to 2.40. I'm using a Sony VW Pro from 13'6", seating at 14-15 feet. Really like the projector but will of course "upgrade" down the road so the screen needs to work for many, many years. This is definitely a journey(but a fun one!!). I'll keep you posted.
