About to be first-time projector owner here...
I was going to pick up a Sony HW50ES (manufacturer claimed brightness of 1700 ANSI lumens), and needed a screen to go with it. Was considering the Da-Lite HP 2.4 gain screen that people seem to like.
My room is not light-controlled which is the main reason for me considering a high gain screen. I am able to mount the projector near the middle of the screen in terms of height. The throw distance will be 14.5', Seating around 10.5-11', screen size I think will be 106" (1.43 seating distance to screen width ratio... is that ok?). Plugging in the numbers in the Projector Central calculator (http://www.projectorcentral.com/Sony-VPL-HW50ES-projection-calculator-pro.htm
), it says the image brightness will be 49 ft-L
Of course it'll be lower than that in real life, but still, seems pretty high, even for a room with ambient light. Is it too bright? If so, do you have another screen recommendation? Thanks!
