My family's expansion has resulted in the loss of my dedicated HT room (kids taking over wink.gif). Before I had a fixed screen, but now will make due with a electric drop screen in the main living area...

Can anyone make a recommendation with the following guidelines:

- Acoustically transparent (i'll put the center behind)
- 16x9 - approx 100" diagonal
- good with at least 'some' ambient light during the day
- I'm willing to pay for something nice, but if quality options are less expensive, i'm always looking to save $

I'll likely be upgrading my Sanyo PLV-Z2000 to an AE8000 or something similar to use with the screen and provide more light flexibility.
I'll plan to mount it myself- i'm still considering if I want it mounted directly on the ceiling or if I want it to come from within the ceiling/attic space above (seems like there's less options available for the later option).

Thanks in advance....

I assume your walls are light colored? A few gray AT screen options:

Da-Lite High Contrast Audio Vision
Da-Lite High Contrast Cinema Vision
Stewart FireHawk G3 microperf
Stewart GrayHawk RS microperf
Screen Innovations Lunar Maestro HD

All of these are a perf, except for the Screen Innovations. It is a weave. If we can help you, give us a call. smile.gif

Thanks for the response. Yes the walls are lighter- and the ceiling is offwhite. I set up my white fixed screen temporarily in the room and it is bright, but it sure does create a light show with all the light splash on the white ceiling/lighter walls. Will grey screens help with that? Perhaps I can convince the wife to darken up the walls/ceiling without it looking like a cave in the general living area wink.gif
