I've recently purchased a 142" Black Diamond screen (2.35:1) and downsized it to 113" (16:9). I now have a leftover piece about 32"x57". I'm tossing around the idea of cutting it up and offering samples to interested members. You would have to pay the shipping from Ontario Canada, but that's it. I don't know what the appropriate size of the samples should be but if you are interested just let me know. I also have my 92" Black Diamond .8 gain for sale but will post in the classified soon....Kev.

I'm quite particular but I am pleased to say it turned out near perfect. The felt around the frame peels back easily, and the frame was then cut on a miter saw with a metal cutting blade. The screen itself is laminated onto a piece of plastic or acrylic and cuts well with a sharp blade. The holes that fix the screen with the rubber bands were then drilled with a forstner bit. A little spray adhesive for the felt and presto, all done. The 142" screen has an overall height of 62.625" (according to the screen calculator on the SI website), while a 113" screen has an overall height of 62.5". Choosing a 113" size was a no-brainer as I couldn't go any larger and I didn't have to cut the height of the screen.

Here's a few pics comparing the BD sample vs. my powered white screen (which drops down from the ceiling)....Even with the lights off, the BD has much deeper blacks....

No problem....I am cutting it in 1/2 as the other side is spoken for. The remaining piece has some light scratching on it as my dog ran across it whilst it was on the floor. To my surprise it seems quite robust. I'll check shipping hopefully this weekend and let you know, but it wont cost too much I'm sure. I am right in the middle of building a Bill Fitzmaurice Sub enclosure and it's taking up a lot of my time....
