Hello,

I am looking for a motorised pull down screen to pull down over my current TV/Speaker setup,
I have a very small area to work with before i get my dedicated space in a few years.
as my speakers would be behind the screen i understand that it would be best to have an acoustically transparent screen, but as AT Pull down screens are expensive and need to be tensioned i dont really want to pay alot of money for a smaller screen size.

I was wondering if getting a normal screen that does not have a AT material affect the audio quality?
i am no audiophile so i do not care that i am not getting the best possible experience?
but i also like things being good, so would a non AT screen still be able to pass through sound from the speakers behind?
is there a big difference or noticeable different in the material?

Thanks
- Callum

No.
The screen is a sheet of vinyl and sound does not go through it. Sound would come around it so you will loose the highs and vocals. Alter the placement of speakers, get smaller ones or a smaller screen.

Hang a vinyl shower curtain in front of your speakers, if you like what you hear a non AT screen should work just fine.

The other option is buying smaller speakers such as bookshelves that fit under the screen.

Thanks for the laugh, Big. smile.gif That would be a little better than leaving the speakers in the boxes they came in. smile.gif
