Hello,
I am heading into a classroom with much ambient light that had a Da Lite High Power 2.8 72" screen put installed to deal with the ambient light issue. However, the projector is ceiling mounted, which would really seem to defeat the reflective gain of the HP. The issue with wall mounting is that the back wall of the classroom is 19 feet away from the screen, which the Sanyo projector in use could handle that throw distance. The Sanyo projector bit the dust, and I now have a budget of $400 to replace it. I'm not really sure if I can track down a projector with a 19 foot throw distance for $400. What would you folks suggest. One thought I had was to take down the HP screen and paint the wall a flat white and see if the viewing angles above 20 degrees would find a brighter picture. Thanks.

Can you get the projector moved down to a table.. Would work much better Spread the desks and make a path for the image.

Not feasible since this would interfere with classroom use, seating, etc.

Would using a telescopic ceiling mount and bringing the projector down a few feet be a viable option to increase the effectiveness of the HP?

If the projector has lens shift sure it would!
