This forum has appeared to have died since I was last here. I see almost no responses anymore. Where did everyone go? I too wondered about this new 5d stuff... Can't find anything but manufacturer hype anywhere.

Many of these threads seem to be above my knowledge and budget.

Did you select a screen? If so, which one, and are you pleased?

I am looking at the Cinegrey Elite EZ fixed screen. I looked at the 5D Cinegrey but it is all about PASSIVE 3D and not active 3D. I will be in a light controlled room and think the standard cinegrey would be fine for me. But projector screens suffer from a huge gaping hole when it comes to real information on which ones to choose. I see why so many of my friends just painted a wall white and called it good. LOL.

Doug (I think) from elite just left me a message advocating the 5D Cinegrey. That confuses me since that screen seems ALL ABOUT rejecting ambient light and I do not have any ambient light issues. He said there are other features that give it more contrast and detail or something like that, I listened to the message over my phone and don't remember the exact details.

I'm really lost at this point...
