I am in the process of setting up another projector in my living room. In homes past I just made DIY fixed frame screens with blackout cloth. This time around I am looking at picking up a Elite 110" motorized screen (VMAX110UWH2). The projector will be a Optoma HD25-LV.
The problem is my throw wall. The screen will be going over the top of my fireplace, which is stone that protrudes from the wall. So I will have to mount the screen from the ceiling and have it about 4" from the wall. Can the screen safely just float down or does it need to rest against a wall? If it needs to rest against a wall I was thinking about running 2x4"'s down the length of the wall for the screen to rest against. Any other thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
