The BD screen is way beyond your $600 to $800 budget. MSRP on an 80" diagonal 16:9 is $5,500.

Tagging along in effort to keep the discussion going...

I'm looking at the 120" motorized tab-tensioned grey screens. I'm wondering if the guys buying them from htdepot or Monoprice are happy with the quality. I saw some reviews mention of cheap-o tension strings, but for $1000 and less, does it matter or will it make a difference? Most of the reviews otherwise are positive. Any other brands to look at for around $1k?

Elite has a new tab tensioned screen called the Starling. You can get a 120 inch screen for about 800 dollars.

OOps! Sorry. A gray tab tensioned screen under 1000 dollars is like finding a needle in a haystack. Maybe you can find a used one.
Wish i had better news for you. I'll keep my eyes open.
