I am so sorry for asking this silly question which has been answered server time, but i am new to the screen size / projectors and i was not able to find similar set-up.

I am planing to build my first home theater (mainly to watch 16:9 movies 2d and 3d and a little gaming) with a limited budget, so far i have found this projector that i can buy with my limited budget of $800 (i am willing to stretch the budget till $900 for the projector)

Projector is: Epson 750HD (3LCD 3D home cinema)
Room size: 12.5' x 12.5'
Distance between the screen and the projector/sitting area: 11'

The projector will be installed on a shelf right on top of the sitting area.

So what is the best screen size that will be comfortable to watch movies without noticing Pixelization effect due to the 720p resolution.

I am choosing this projector because its the only LCD projector with 3d at this price, i don't prefer DLP due to the RBE (rainbow effect)

Thanks for your understanding.

The old rule is the closer you sit to the screen the higher the resolution you will want. At 11 feet from the screen you should be looking at 1080p projectors. This is not to say you will not enjoy 720p at 11 feet but it is a compromise, this is assuming a 100" (16:9) screen. Below is a link to the Carlton Bale article and chart you may find interesting.

If you plan on using the 3D a lot, you want a smaller screen than if you were going to use 2D. You loose a LOT of light with 3D so a smaller screen or higher gain will help in the 3D. From what I hear, LCD 3D suffered from a LOT of crosstalk in the image.. but I do not do 3D so can not say from personal experience if this is a good choice or not. Keep the screen at or under 100" at that distance.

My old setup was 720p on at first a 65" portable from 16' then about 80" of a an HP2.8 gain (not made anymore) which I now use at the full 110" with 1080p (see photos in signature below) We sat about 14" back but a side seat was around 9 and with DLP I could not see the pixels. After making some changes to the room and before buying a new to me projector, I did view the 720p at 100" and it was much softer at this size but the pixels were not an issue from seating. With 3LCD you have more issues with Convergence I think than you do with DLP as you will more than likely will not have perfect convergence which you will see in certain content up close.
