I'm new a new player in the home theater game and was wondering how much better it was to get a professional screen vs building your own. I'm looking for a 120" to 140" screen to be used mostly for movies and gaming (2D and 3D). Any particular recommendations on a screen to get? I'm not looking to spend a crazy amount of money so anything that is great for the price would be good. Thanks!

Most 3D projectors do not put out sufficient light to properly light up anything bigger than 100" in 3D. You may be in for disappointment with 3D on a 120" or larger screen if you do not use something with high gain. However they come with caveats as well .. check out the DIY forum and see what they are suggesting for 3D screen size with there mixes if you want to paint your own screen.
