Just one row of seats?

I would say it depends somewhat on how close you like to sit to the screen when you go to the movies. If you sit at the very back of a theatre by choice I would suggest staying under a 106" diagonal screen 16:9. If you like sitting a little closer to feel immersed in the movie I would think a 120" screen would work well.

My Gear:

JTR Noesis 228HT (LCR)
Axiom Audio QS8 surrounds
Sherbourn PA 7-350
Pioneer VSX-21TXH
JVC RS45
Falcon Screens FVHD105
Dual PSA XS30's (gone but not forgotten)

That's about the size of my room, and I sit ~ 11 ft from the screen. I like the 'big screen' experience and have a hybrid size screen, 144x72. For 16x9 it is 128"x72", and for 2.35 it is 144"x61". E.g., I'm sitting ~ 1 SW from the 16x9 pic. Some people like it this close, but not everybody.

my space is 16 x 18 and site between 10 & 11 feet i think 120" is perfect , it think if i went any bigger that watching fast moving scenes could make people that are not used to it feel a little nauseous just my opinion though

The 'big screen' grows on one, or at least on some of us. My earlier screen was a 16x9 110x62, but after a yr or so I yearned for an even more engrossing experience. I realize that not everyone likes this, but for some of us it's amazing.
