Screen material samples

I was just wondering how hard it is to get material samples. I wanted to try one black diamond sample. Since I'm fighting ambient light. As well as a Stewart fire hawk.

Very easy actually.

I'm also picking between some ambient light screens. I emailed Screen Innovations, and they mailed me both the BD 0.8 & 1.4, as well as a couple others free of charge. Same thing with Stewart, as they sent me the Firehawk sample free of charge. The only sample I had to pay for was the Elite Screens CineGrey 5D, which is a cheaper ambient light alternative. I'm currently trying to get a sample of the DNP 23/23, but I don't know if they give out free samples, as they're based in Denmark, and I'm in the US.

Stewart samples weren't the hard part. I was able to get some from Stewart quite easily by emailing them. Getting DNP samples on the other hand, that's quite tricky.

I spoke to Jon Seymour 515-268-3369 about his screens and he was about as helpful as a person could be. Very nice and knowledgeable. He will sell you the material for all the DIY guys like myself and I would bet he would send you a free sample too. But I do not know about the quality of his screens. Just he was extremely nice to talk to and offered many ideas to help me with my project.

How do Seymour screens compare to others? Are they considered low, middle or high end?
